Guest guest
WOW I have such a different take on this. I am spending approximately $10000 for this surgery. If it was a car or remodeling to my home I would be bragging about this. Why should I not be bragging about paying this money so I can get myself under control. Personally I feel like G-d has blessed me to have the money so I can get my life back on track. We "fatties" have to admit we have missed out on a lot of life. We are willing to pay the price to get our life back. We should be walking around like a proud peacock. Anyone who says anything about the speed of weight loss is showing their own ignorance. I personally think we should be proud we have taken control of our life. G-d loves you and has given you this opportunity...don't be ashamed of the fact...but be proud you have done something about the situation you are in. I know many people who are skinny and are in a worse place than I am...but they don't have lap band surgery for their problem Love you guys Dee In a message dated 5/26/2006 1:17:56 PM Eastern Standard Time, gingerlarsen@... writes: That sucks!! For the past 9 months I thought it was a my secret but she told them all the day after I left the office. Guest guest
Liz, I'm so sorry that happened. I guess that's why I never wanted to tell anyone so they wouldn't be watching me all the time. Anyway I'll keep you in prayer but then again I already am. Just try to stay calm and bite your tongue alot!!LOL Talk to you later, Sheri Wilkins -------------- Original message -------------- From: "lizadeltastar" <airbart@...> I just found out that a "trusted friend" at work told EVERYONE about my surgery. Guest guest
Hey Liz, I am sorry! Sounds like your "trusted friend" likes to gossip. Hopefully it was a slip and not intentional?? I wouldn't worry about anyone else but yourself. Keep doing what you have been doing and let the band do the rest. I think we all feel like we are under a magnifying glass at times. I just smile and do my best. That is all you can do. Ugh! You know, this may be motivational for you? It could also be an example;e for others. You can take the attitude "I will show them" that is what I would try and do. Maybe put a good spin on it and use it for the positive since you can't change it. I would be taken aback like you and I would surely talk to my supposed friend. But you go girl. Show them how successful you can be :0) Know that you are awesome no matter what and we are all pulling for you as a Family. I will keep you in my prayers! I'm really upset I just found out that a "trusted friend" at work told EVERYONE about my surgery. For the past 9 months I thought it was a my secret but she told them all the day after I left the office. I'm amazed that they never said anything to me till today - but now I'm suddenly supposed to be the incredible shrinking woman and lose 10 pounds every day!Keep me in prayer that I don't say something I'll regret later...Liz

Guest guest
Liz, I am so sorry, did your "trusted friend" explain herself???It had better be a good one!! You know, some people can't help themselves, they open there mouths...and blurt it to the world!!! I didn't tell many people either and found myself telling some co-workers after they had commented on my weight loss. Most were shocked, but wanted all the info on Dr. A! Be proud of your choice to improve yourself, and offer information to others in your office that may want it or need it. The secrets out, but the reality is you have taken control of your weight and your future. Remember, your in control at the office as well as your choice of friends! Make the best of it, and Smile:) Dana -------------- Original message -------------- From: "lizadeltastar" <airbart@...> I just found out that a "trusted friend" at work told EVERYONE about my surgery. Guest guest
Hi Liz, I know how you feel. I only told my sister and stepmother I was having surgery. Well It wasnt my sister that had to tell the entire family!! My stepmom did and I am upset about it. I feel like everyones watching me now. I have only lost 13 pounds since my DOB 4/20 and thats not good. I feel like a failure and on top of that I feel like I am being put under a microscope! As far as I am concerned when we are ready to tell others then we will. Sometimes for some reason or another people think that its their place to talk. Good Luck at work and did you say something to her about that? Tammy I. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Somethings are more personal to some people than others. I have told alot of people about having my surgery but I feel I should be the one who decides who knows and who doesn't. Again, it's my business and my body and my surgery. I am by no means embarrassed that I had a lapband. On the contrary, it's the first thing I've done for myself in a longtime. But again, I will decide who knows. Why do you drop the " o " out of GOD? Guest guest
Ginger, You are right. The person who was gossiping had no right. As far as dropping the "o" out of G-d, it is a sign of respect.
