Guest guest
Hi ~ I know what you mean about the support system in your teenage daughter! The first time I shopped in the regular ladies section, all 4 of my daughters (ages 16, 20, 20 and 22) were with me. I don't know who was more excited that I found things that fit ~ me or them! The clerk kept coming by and asking if I needed help . . . I was starting to wonder if she thought I was shoplifting or something, she was following me so much! lol Finally I told her that I had my 4 personal shoppers with so I didn't need any help. Its funny how hard it can be to let go of our old mindset tho . . . I wondered if she thought I was in the wrong section . . . " The WOMEN'S section is upstairs! " Congratulations on your size 18's! Doesn't it feel great? The first time I went jean shopping after surgery , I went in the store in size 26 (yes, extremely baggy but I didn't think I had lost that much around my waist at that point) and came out with size 18's! Guest guest
I went shopping with a friend to try and find a suit jacket to drive my horse in. I started in the Women's department and kept going smaller and smaller....finally the clerk came over and told me the ladies/misses were around the corner and I needed to try things on in there. I was pretty shocked...my friend said the look on my face was incredible. That was last year...forward to this year: Just got told by my doctor that I dont need to lose any more weight. WOW never thought I would hear those words. Also just bought a size 14P. Who would have thunk that one? Guest guest
Carol, Wow! I thought I waited a long time before I bought new jeans. That's very cool that you went from a size 26 to an 18! Do you realize that is down 5 sizes? Holy cow! LOL I bet you were having a hard time keeping your pants up! I think thats great that you have four daughters to encourage you. What a blessing children are in our lives. I just can't imagine life without my two teens. This past Christmas I cried everytime they played " I'll Be Home For Christmas " , because it kept reminding me that I only have two more holiday seasons before my firstborn leaves me and goes in the Airforce. I know they will probably not let him come home for Christmas just because his mother is a sentimental fool and is missing him desparately! LOL My daughter promises me that after college, she will marry a good, godly man, buy a house next door, and give me at least two grandchildren. Sounds like a plan to me! in NC Carol Selin <carolandcrew53@...> wrote: Hi ~ I know what you mean about the support system in your teenage daughter! Guest guest
Hi, ! I was a 26/28 when I started out, and you're right, an 18 is something to celebrate! I just got into size 14/16 last week and couldn't be happier! I told my husband when I got home from shopping that now that I have more than two stores to choose from, I really don't know where to go. I know it sounds funny, but it was always so easy to know which two stores I would go to, and if I didn't find anything there, I'd just turn around and go home empty- handed. I've never had the experience of shopping in a " normal " store, so this is surely going to be a learning experience. Congrats on reaching a milestone! > > Hey everybody, > > I just wanted to share some good news with ya'all. Today I went shopping for some new jeans, because my size 22's were getting really baggy. Guest guest
Hi ~ Actually, my pants didn't seem " that " big. I knew they were loose but not that bad! lol My youngest (now 16) told me when she was younger that she was never going to move out, that she would stay and take care of us in our old age. I told her that that was sweet and she was welcome but that the time might come when she might want to get married. She thought about it awhile and said that her husband would have to agree to live with us too! lol Children are indeed a blessing from God! I sometimes panic at the thought of the " empty nest " but right now all 4 girls are still home so it will probably be awhile before we have to face that. Oh, did I mention that I do have a son, 27? Still not sure how I got a son that old! Its great to have those 'in-house' cheerleaders, rooting me on. Carol in Seattle --- " A. " <queenkellywilliams@...> wrote: > Carol, > > Wow!
