Guest guest
I was playing with CD's yesterday off my computer. I can hear music if it's familiar. So I reluctantly got out my wires and plugged into my computer speakers to see if there's a difference. The sound seems crisper while listening with the wire than without. Does anyone else notice that on their 3g? Then much to my dismay my 3 yr. old TV doesn't have a front jack and neither does my DirecTV box!!! How Rude!! There's a jack on the DVD player but that would only work if we are watching a movie or I put in a CD. Oh well. Kat
Guest guest
Kathy, You should not plug into a device that's powered by AC current unless the patch cord has a built in surge suppressor. Otherwise you run the risk of a power surge damaging your CI. At 2:37 PM -0400 7/15/03, Kat & wrote: >I was playing with CD's yesterday off my computer. I can hear music >if it's familiar. Guest guest
You can still use the loop without a speaker jack. On the rear of most TVs there are outputs on the back. If you don't have a matching plug, you can buy an adapter for it at Radio Shack cheap. You might need to buy some extender cable to reach around the back, but it's not a big deal. Guest guest
Kat, I used my daughter's headphones with soft coverings over my bilateral implants and the sound was clearer. They had the TV up loud in the livingroom because I had the puter up too loud in the other room. I could turn the puter sound down and the headphones helped knock out the TV noise. Love reading your CI moments and everyone else's too so keep them coming. Sharon Myers Bilateral N24C 3Gs Kat & <jandkdewitt@...> wrote: I was playing with CD's yesterday off my computer. Guest guest
, The Nucleus comes with a stereo cord with a built in surge protector so it's safe to use with electrical equipment. cheers, Silly In , snoopy1964@a... wrote: > -- we can use our equipment by Cochlear on the computer system with no > problem . we generally use the cable provided. Guest guest
Kat and all, If you got a stereo cord.. the real long one with a surge protector built in, you can use this on your stereo, tv, and computer. If you have the bwp, I believe this jack plugs right into the processor, but if you have the 3G, you would need the adaptor cord that plugs into the 3G with the jack fitting on the other end. You can then turn your sensitivity program all the way down so it blocks out all background noise then turn your volume up on your stero or pc. No one else can hear the sound except for you so you can listen away to your hearts content without disturbing anyone. As for using it on the tv, you need tohave a stereo television in order for the stereo cord end to fit into the jack. Hope this helps Hugs, Silly
Guest guest
Just about every TV sold in the last 10 years have the output jacks somewhere on the back of them. Look again and see if you see 2 round nubbins; one will have a red ring around it and the other will have a yellow ring around it. They will be the output jacks. The yellow one is the audio output. I'd be awefully surprised if you cannot locate them. If you have a VCR fed through your TV, there should be jacks on the rear of them, too. I used to have a part time business selling ALDs and I would install them for my clients and I took the signal from the audio output jacks on the rear of the TV instead of from the speaker jacks so others in the household could watch the same program and have the sound turned on. If you don't find the jacks, maybe it's time to get a new TV. <BEG> Pete > > You can still use the loop without a speaker jack. Guest guest
Pete, The RCA jacks are as follows: Yellow - Video signal White - left (mono) sound if a stereo TV: Red - right sound in stereo Also, there are often separate sets of jacks to be used for input and output. Guest guest
OOOPS! You're right, of course. I guess I was too sleepy when I wrote that! I should have gotten one of the cables out of the junk box and looked at it before I responded. I don't even think about which is what. I just match up the colors and plug em in. > >> > You can still use the loop without a speaker jack.
