Guest guest
If you can find out where I might be able to look at the specifications for the cables and plugs, I might be able to have some made for you for free, but it depends on what types of connectors you need, since I have no hands-on technical knowledge of what sort of wires and stuff your CI uses. > I hesitate to ask but need to. Guest guest
Pete, The walkman cable (2 feet long) is simple, both ends use stereo 1/8 " with one end being mono (it is NOT a mono plug). I THINK too this cable has built- in attenuation. The other tiems are custom made for the 3G and you won't find the connectors on the open market. This is why these bloody things are so expensive. Each component goes thru the FDA process. Sigh. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* " If you feel you have no faults ... there's another one. Guest guest
speaking of the cables I need to track it down before Tuesday cause I need it for work. i am thinking. I looked up the prices on the Cochlear website and they are not cheap . the walkman cable is the most expensive at 72 and the cheapest one was the adapter cable at 34. and the plug that goes with the cable is at 45 for that tiny isty bit. Let me brainstorm for ideas and pass on to you. -- Snoopy N24C-bilateral
Guest guest
Yeah Snoopy live up to your nick and snoop it out! LOL I could not pass that up. The TV cable goes for $150 and I do use that on the PC. Ouch. Thanks Snoopy. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Anything worth fighting for is worth fighting dirty for. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.attbi.com/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
Hi , Have you used the t-coil and a neck loop with these devices. It might be easier than trying to handle the accessory plug and cables. Ruth Need Extras I hesitate to ask but need to. This query is only for 3G users. Ok here goes. Due to my situation, I like being able to use all the options I have to maximize my hearing. Someday i might just do fine wihtout any plug ins but for now I use the various patch cords and FM system, etc. Ok, what I want to do is make up sets of cables and plugs etc for the 3G. Can't find the list already, hmmmm. Well I want to get 3 more accessory plugs, 2 accessory cables, and maybe another walkman cable. This would let me have sets for everything with no need to unplug a thing. Being I have poor vision, its too easy to lose those little plugs and also to get things plugged in. Now I am broke as can be but maybe something can be worked out. I doubt insurance will pay for this. So if anyone has extras or has some ideas on how I can get these things, let me know. Thanks! *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* The trouble with life is, you're halfway through it before you realize it's a do-it-yourself thing. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.attbi.com/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
Ruth, T coil works great, But the neck loop sucks. The loop is not aligned properly with the t coil component inside the 3G. I can make the neck loop work but I need my hands free. LOL Reason for complete sets of cables/plugs is so I can use the tv cable on the PC. The aux mic (which has to have the lil plug even THO it will work without). FM system. My life would be much easier with that. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* I think the mistake a lot of us make is thinking the state-appointed shrink is our friend. --Jack Handley & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.attbi.com/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
Fooo on the FDA! As soon as I read your comment, I knew it was a foregone conclusion that I could just make you the cables. Last thing in the world I want to do is blow up your processor. Sigh. > Pete, > The walkman cable (2 feet long) is simple, both ends use stereo > 1/8 " with one end being mono (it is NOT a mono plug). I THINK too > this cable has built- in attenuation. Guest guest
LOL Actually Pete, the reason is that the FDA approves everything that goes with a CI. What one does afterwards is another matter. F'xample, the batteries. The " approved " batteries for the 3G are the Varta nd Toshibas but that does not mean one cannot use other brands. Just means these were the ones used during the 3G's FDA evaluation. Still makes no different for the accessory cable and plug since they use unique connectors for the 3G. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.attbi.com/~rlclark77/
