Guest guest
Call your surgeon!!! Please do not mess around and call. It sounds serious or it can be as easy as you need more SALT!!!! Good luck, let us know what happens. Elissa
Guest guest
What is your gatorade or V8 intake? This could be electrolyte imbalance. Do you have rubbery legs? The rapid loss of excess fluid carries away a lot of salt. That can cause a serious drop in blood pressure. Hormone imbalance can cause a lot of differing symptoms from oned person to the next too. I don't know how far out you are, but if it's been several months, you could be anemic or have a vitamin or mineral deficiency. Are you on the patch? It might be helpful to know your surgery date, how you eat and what supplements you're taking. Above all, keep that doctor's appointment as soon as you can! You can always call your surgeon. Guest guest
I'm not sure I'm understanding your note properly but if I am, you need to see a doctor NOW. Do not wait until you are menstruating! If they suspect pregnancy, they can easily perform a blood test. It is most definitely not normal to feel dizzy all the time. I've had two children, and never had this sort of problem. If your MD won't see you immediately, I strongly suggest you find someone who will. Joanie 5/25/04 Drs. Guest guest
J, You don't say how far post op you are and so not a lot to go on but the first thing I would try would be a rather large amount of sodium and potassium. I would drink 2 V8 a day( at least 24 oz.) for the next 2-3 days and see if you don't feel better. .Gatorade works for this too but I don't like it as well. I experienced this about 18months out and really had to work at getting more salt.In my case it was summer and I was exercising and sweating and not consuming enough salt, but couldn't figure out why.I was drinking water.and depleting my sodium. The dizziness went away and as long as I am intentional to get enough sodium and potassium It stays away.. Just a thought for you Peg NJ 04/03 Down 120 _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of jenaypratt Sent: Saturday, December 02, 2006 9:10 AM Subject: Always Dizzy Hi everyone. I'm constantly feeling dizzy. If I am sitting down and get up I have to sit down half way to my destination (i.e. if I am sitting on the couch and want to go to the kitchen, which is 15 feet from me, I have to sit down at the dining table until I don't feel dizzy anymore.) I have fainted once already about a week ago. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone and what could be the cause. It's getting worse. Use to be once a day now it's all day. Even if I am sitting here. I did make a doctors appointment but had to cancel because they say I have to be on my menstrual cycle to perform anything, just in case I am pregnant. I have missed my monthly so I have to wait until I start again in order to see the doctor. I was having tons of stomach/abdominal pain, thought I have the dumping syndrome so I changed the way I eat and eat more often than I did. I don't have any of those symptoms much anymore. Just sometimes, but the dizziness is scaring me to death. I am only 26 years old and I feel like I'm going to faint everyday and hurt myself. If anyone has felt like this or might know what is causing this I would appreciate if you told me. Thank you. Jenay.
Guest guest
Hi Jenay~ How far post-op are you? Have you tried getting more sodium/salt? Drink some V-8. Make sure you are getting enough fluids also. Carol in Seattle --- jenaypratt <jenaypratt@...> wrote: > Hi everyone. I'm constantly feeling dizzy. Guest guest
Hi, Go see your doctor whether you are having your menses or not. You may be anemic and they need jto check your blood pressure with you in different positions. Are you drinking enough? Pam --- jenaypratt <jenaypratt@...> wrote: > Hi everyone. Guest guest
I've had this symptom too, but it was simply an issue of my blood pressure being low. Mine tends to run at the " low " end of normal anyway, so if my resistance is a little down with a cold, or, as happened this fall, an intestinal infection, it drops down to below 100/70 and I have the dizziness issue also...I also had an incident of passing out one night when I jumped out of bed too fast to go to the restroom. Could also be the other things (potassium, sodium, etc.) that other folks have suggested, but check the easy things first. in Atlanta > > Hi everyone. I'm constantly feeling dizzy. Guest guest
wow your lucky that you can drink milk and oj, they both kill me... although i just found an oj by minute maid that has half the calories and sugar as regular and it tastes great.. as far as the dizzy thing, when i get my blood pressure to low or dehydrated i get very dizzy.. maybe your not eating enough salt.. dr r told me the day of surgery to always carry saltines with me... and he is right ofcourse, as soon as i start feeling a bit down i drink either water or propel, and eat some crackers and almost istantly feel better, i tend to eat alot more slaty snacks now, as we speak i am munching on chex mix... lol good luck.. jenn 11/26/03 350/150 highpoint nc dr rutledge and dr dasher Jenn
Guest guest
Can you order something online to be shipped to you? I use powdered Gatorade (less expensive), and Elete Water drops that I ordered online. I've never had to try ordering v-8 online, but it seems like anything in the world is availalbe to shipped, as long as it meets postal guidelines, of course. If you don't have anybody in the States that will ship to you, I'd be happy to put together a care package for you! :-) Kathy in VA 7/6/06 297/223 -------------- Original message -------------- From: Jenay Pratt <jenaypratt@...> I will be 2 years post op on January 27th of 2007. This thing about gatorade and V8 juice is that I live in Ireland and they have nothing like that here. The only thing they have here, as far as sports drinks, is a drink that is nothing like Gatorade in the sense that it does not have the same minerals in it. All it is is water and sugar. No salt, no nothing. I have searched high and low for Gatorade, can not be found here, so I am not sure what to drink. I drink tea, water, milk and orange juice and that is about it. --------------------------------- Check out the all-new beta - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster.
