Guest guest
Hello all - I have a couple questions for my fellow post ops about supplements. First, I am wondering in general what everyone is taking. I am speaking of those beyond the musts (not one source or tums, citrucel or pepto). I went to GNC and spent 90 last week and it should last me about a month. And, I guess I was wanting to see which one's other people took and for how long. Also, I have been taking ZMA (zinc) before bed on an empty stomach as suggested... however it has been really hurting my stomach. Last night I got up at 2am and threw it up, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Both Dr. R's and the bottles suggest taking it on an empty stomach. Has anyone else had trouble with these? Thanks for your help. n
Guest guest
Hello to n and anyone else interested in supplement info: I'd like to tell you about Melaleuca if you have not heard of it?? All their vitamins, protein shakes, bars, (plus...cleaning products, and personal care items) are all chemical free... and their vitamins are the best - they have a patented fructose compounding that helps your body absorb 70-80 percent of the vitamins - (as opposed to maybe 10-15% of most store purchased vitamins)..... you can check out www.melaleuca.com to find out a little ....but I'd love to tell you more - just let me know if you would like more information..... I just know how much better I started feeling after I was able to start on my vitamins - they are truly the best I've ever taken and I had a very hard time after surgery so I'm speaking 1st hand on this one..... I know when you go to the health food store you can drop almost a hundred bucks for a month's worth of needs but you would probably spend only around half that much with Melaleuca ....plus they give you 10% back every month for what you order... now what other company will do that? I've thought about sharing this before but did not want to sound pushy and send out a big sales pitch but I have shared this with a few personally and they have appreciated it and thanked me so now I feel I'm doing my fellow mgber's an injustice if I don't share this with you all.... especially since our bodies are not absorbing all the nutrients already I really believe these vitamins are the best. If you would like more information you can email me privately at: bsimpson@..., or call me at 330/297-4445 and leave a message with your name, number, and best time to call so I can chat with you about this. Trust me, I am not trying to push this on anyone - please only if you are interested and want to know more I am very happy to share what they have done for me! p.s. I do not order for you, I do not stock anything - it is nothing like that - you are in control of what you want to order and it comes right to your home - plus EVERYTHING is GUARANTEED - if you are not happy they refund you and no questions asked (but I have to tell you this is a solid company with an 18 year track record and their re-order rate is 95% monthly - unbelievable I know but what that means is that 95% of the people who order from them this month will order next month.... (p.p.s... it is not affiliated with or like Amway, aka quikstar etc...) Take care and Blessing and good health on you all..... Barb 3/25/03 - Dr. R. Guest guest
n: I have had trouble with the ZMA and I quit taking it. I am currently taking only the essentials. And the One Source sometimes hurt my stomach but I take them in the middle of a meal and that seems to help. Guest guest
Dana from Dr. R's office advised me to take the ZMA with food because it can be very harsh on the tummy. Try it with food and you'll probably feel much better! -- >From: " ryann_castle " <ryanncastle@...> >Reply- > >Subject: ? supplements >Date: Tue, 06 May 2003 14:00:42 -0000 > >Hello all - >I have a couple questions for my fellow post ops about supplements. >First, I am wondering in general what everyone is taking. Guest guest
My question would have to be, Have you had Dr. Rutledge approve this type of vitamins? He suggests OneSource because they are full of what we need, regardless to what amounts of it we actually absorb at one time. I am leery of anything that he does not support. I spent too much of my money to fool around with anything that the Doc doesn't back up and support. If you are reading this Dr. Rutledge, what about these vitamins? I know as someone who has to pay for everything they use out of pocket, I sure could use a break on the cost of things, and if it's true, then it would be great. I don't mean to come across mean sounding about this. I am just scared to use anything that has not been checked out by Dr. R first.
