Genz, you'll be in my prayers for a smooth dance with Dr. R. and a quick

recovery. I give you sooooooooo much credit, you haven't given up. I've lost

about 117 lbs, but still need to lose about 45 more. Can't afford a

revision, but having plastic surgery in Costa Rica and hoping that they'll

remove another 15 lbs. or so. Thinking of you and wishing you the best!

I don't guess I realized that you had your MGB revised to a RNY. Why was this

and did Dr. R do it? Not to show my stupidity here, but this revision is being

revised to what? I'm confused.

I'm sorry that you have to go through all these surgeries. I'll be thinking of

you.

Good to hear from you!

I am curious what you were feeling/experiencing that was/is related to your

obstruction. I saw my gastro two days ago and he thinks there is a chance I

might have a partial obstruction. My appointment for the small bowel series

isn't for a month though. I'm not dying so I need to wait till I can get a

day off from work.

Hi ,

To be honest I haven't been in any real " pain " . I have severe

intestinal cramping, nausea and diarrhea on occasion but I always

attributed it to having a RNY. My PCP and I were surprised to find the

partial blockage. My PCP did tell me that I needed to see my surgeon

and if I start having severe pain before I got to NC then I should go

to the ER. I feel fine.

I hope your tests turn out ok.

Hi Pat,

Best of luck to you on the PS in Costa Rica. I'm sure RR and I will do

just fine.....this is our third dance together so we're getting to be

old pros at this. Bless his heart he has to put up with all my

allergic reactions to the meds and tape. Last time they didn't even

tape my abdomen...they just folded a big blanket over me and changed

the blanket when it needed it. I'm just hoping I won't need an NG tube

this time. Statesville here I come!!!!!

on this list and everyone seems to be doing well. I've missed all of

my " old " friends.

I wanted to ask for prayers.....I'm flying out tomorrow for RDU and

I'm having another revision with Dr.R on Friday. I think I'm more

concerned with the flight than the surgery.LOL It appears that I have

a partial bowel obstruction and thank goodness I found out while I was

preparing for a revision to my RNY revision. I had requested an Upper

GI just for grins and it showed that an area of my small bowel was

dilated. My PCP sent me back for a CT scan which confirmed a partial

bowel obstruction. They just aren't sure exactly what it is, it may

just be scar tissue. Anyway I'm scheduled for surgery this

Has anyone heard from Genz about how her revision went? I have not

seen anything posted about her since they said it was postponed for a

Hi ,

I spoke to and Genz, she was doing fine, sounded good.

I told her we are all happy for her, and are praying for her. They

did the surgery on Monday, and she was at the hotel tuesday I called

about 7 in the evening, she was with and she was resting, but I

spoke to both of them. Just wanted to let everyone know, haven't

heard anything since.

The only thing I have heard is by way of Cheryl Klein and she said

that Genz is doing well --- tired but doing well.
