<<after a dental visit.

I don't sell this or even know the person who sells this, so this

isn't an ad.....just sharing what I use and really like.

The website is www.perfect-prescription.com>>

A co-worker gave some of this to try a few weeks ago. I have always had big

pockets in my gums that the dentist has preached to me about. I have an

order that seems to be lost " somewhere " . The mint version that i have a

sample of seem a bit well, soapy, but not bad really. I have the cinammon

flavor on order.

I think most soaps have glycerine. My Dr. Bronners Castile Soap lists

organic oils then afterwards it says (with retained Glycerine).

ex. Organic coconut oil(with retained glycerine)

So i think glycerine is found in all unrefined oil or something like that.

list glycerine, but don't true soaps have some form of glycerine in

them, either added or generated by the soapmaking process?

I would suspect you could make a very similar tooth soap with raw coconut oil and essential oils in your own

I've been using Ivory Soap as toothpaste for a few months, since someone

else on this list (Gayla? Sheri?) posted that they were using it,

too. I like it much better than toothpaste. I made the

mistake of mentioning on another list what I was using to brush my teeth

and there are people freaking out now. Quite a few asked me to

" furnish a link " that showed Tooth Soap worked better than

toothpaste. At one time, a link was posted here that led to a

website for tooth soap and that site had a very interesting article about

regular toothpaste vs. the use of tooth soap. That's what I was

looking for, was that article. I do think I've got the right site

from a link that was posted for me the last few days, but I can't find

the article, darn it.

Don't bother trying to convince them that soap is "better than

toothpaste"... that really isn't the point. Just show them to the

truth about fluoride... there are lots of websites out there that

explain why fluoride is NOT good for us at all. Show them the websites

that prove fluoridated water is harmful to our health, causes more

problems than they are supposed to cure and costs waaaaaay too much

anyway. Why are our tax dollars used to put poison in the water? That

just doesn't make sense at all. For the life of me, I don't know why

anyone would continue to use

fluoride in any form once the have the facts about what it really is

and where it comes from. (Google "adverse affects of fluoride" for a

looooong list of sites on this topic.)

There are other harmful ingredients in commercial toothpaste as well,

such as glycerin. Because of it's slipperiness, the glycerin prevents

tooth enamel from regrowing/renewing. What about the titanium dioxide

(or whatever it is) used to make the paste white... we don't need to

ingest that stuff either. The aspartame and other sweeteners used in

toothpastes are just as unnecessary... I mean, brushing our teeth is

something we must do for our health and I don't understand the notion

that toothpaste must taste like bubble gum or pina colada's or whatever

is the newest flavor out there in order to get the job done. That is

just nuts, ya know? It takes 3-5 minutes to brush my teeth and I don't

need fake sweeteners or fancy flavors to entice me to do it.

I think most people automatically have knee-jerk reactions to using bar

soap as toothpaste for these reasons: a) Worry about the taste. B)

Memories of soap in the mouth being used as a punishment for children

who mis-speak. c) Social conditioning and brain-washing.

Taste - Ivory soap does not taste bad. It only takes 3-5 rinses to get

all the soap and it's flavor out of the mouth. 25-30 rinses barely

remove the glycerin in commercial toothpaste and that is a much greater

problem than the slight taste of soap.

Soap in the mouth - I listened with pride as my daughter explained to

her cousin how to use the soap to brush... when my niece said something

about soap in the mouth as a punishment, my daughter said "Well, that's

just silly... why would that be a punishment?" LOL!

Brainwashed - Remember that the majority of folks are buying the claims

of the commercial brands lock, stock and barrel and they truly believe

they are preventing cavities and decay by using those products. They

grew up hearing the wonders of fluoride and using it by the boat

loads... admitting that we were lied to and mislead by the government

and by those companies is a hard pill to swallow and some folks will

never hear the message at all - they can't bear to. To hear the

message that these products are harmful to us and acknowledge it would

take them out of their safe little box and they can't handle that.

They then would have to examine alot of the other things they thought

were true (but aren't) and that is just too hard for some people so

they stay in their boxes wearing their blinders.

Peace,

Mouse

ps. One last comment: What does the average person think folks used

to brush with before commercial toothpaste was invented?? Back then,

one bar of soap provided shampoo, toothpaste and laundry soap!! If it

was good enough for my great grandmother, then it's good enough for

me. lol....

Suzi -

For years and years while I was growing up, my mother always bought

Castille Soap. I remember it was the cheapest soap in the store and

I always thought we should be buying one of the " better " soaps -

Dove, Caress, etc. I guess mothers do know best, LOL.

I cannot find Castille Soap in any of the stores around here, nor can

my mom find it down home anymore. I did find the liquid Castille at

Cracker Barrel and bought a couple of bottles for shower use, but I

can't believe the bar soap isn't in this area anymore.

Thanks!

When I told my dentist I was brushing with soap he thought that was fine but where was I getting my fluoride from??? That was his big concern. I think I might have a little different take on fluoride than he does. I'll pass;-).

I used Burts Bees Cinnamint toothpaste for a while, but my dentist has been stressing the need for me to have flouridated toothpaste because of the amount of decay I have. I have read of the dangers of flouride for people with hypothyroidism, which I was diagnosed with a few years ago. Is there some way to get the flouride I need for my teeth without having to worry about its affects on my thyroid?

=======================

Hi Tracey,

Personally, I would be looking for another dentist. Of course he is

going to stress fluoride. It keeps him in business. Fluoride is a known

toxin, a poison. It ruins the enamel on your teeth. Worse, it ruins your

health. You can get all the fluoride you need from the food you eat

without having to use the toxic stuff they put in toothpaste, mouthwash,

mineral waters, now some chewing gums, etc. Natural fluoride found in

fresh raw fruits and vegetables is the fluoride your body can use that

is non-toxic. This whole scenario of needing fluoride is a scam by the

industries that produce this poison as a waste by-product of their

industrialized machinations. It was a pure PR marketing scheme to push

fluoride onto the public. It has never been proven to be beneficial and

has been proven, time and time again, to be toxic, tooth destroying and

health damaging.

Fluoride does not stop decay. There is nothing that will stop decay

except you and the dietary and lifestyle choices you make. There is a

ton of researched articles, notes, etc., on the web. Just do a google on it.

DO NOT USE ANY PRODUCT THAT LISTS FLUORIDE AS AN INGREDIENT. IT WILL BE

THE TOXIC KIND ALWAYS.

HTH,

Don Quai

As for finding another dentist, I think I will just have to stand my ground on this one

I totally understand that . I stay with my dentist too. I just realize his training is limited and he does his thing when I'm there and then I do mine when I leave;-). My dentist knows I use all kinds of "weird" treatments for my teeth and gums. About the only thing we agree on is extra Vitamin C. He doesn't try to convince me of anything and I don't try to convince him. If you go through life trying to find someone who agrees with everything you do, you'll be looking forever!! LOL!

Hi Tracey, A while back, maybe as long ago as a year, I posted a similar question. Don responded with a list of foods that have natural fluoride, and the levels. I saved the post, but I don't have access to my computer at the moment. Maybe an archive search using the keyword fluoride will turn up something. Or maybe Don could wrack his brain and remember what it was he sent. Sorry not of more help. Something my dental SURGEON put me onto (Why did it have to reach the level of a surgeon before I was given the info, I don't know) .. was a tool that uses the end of a toothpick in each end. One end points outward (outside of teeth), the other points inward (inside of teeth) . . . My job is to vigorously massage along the gum line every 24 hours. Then floss by wrapping the floss around each tooth, (not just straight up and down) and pushing into the gum line as deeply as possible. Doing this has created gums that are very tough! . . . It disturbs the bacteria that causes gum disease/tooth decay, promoting healthy bones and teeth. There are conditions where you shouldn't do this . . . If you have disease below the gum line, this can "seal" the bacteria below the gum line . . . So, ask your dentist about doing this! You will at least need to have a thorough cleanning

before starting, Rogene Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: I am going to be trying this stuff. I have been concerned about my dental health for some time, and this sounds like it is a winner! I read all of the testimonials and I am convinced that this is going to help me. If you have dental issues from your implants, or don't yet and want to avoid them, you might want to look into this. I am posting the original letter that led me to

this, from another group. Patty Re: VCO Toothpaste (Virgin Coconut Oil toothpaste) Posted by: "auntiem_in_ca" machellebrazeau auntiem_in_ca Fri Mar 2, 2007 5:47 pm (PST) Hi everyone. Just thought

I'd let you know about Tooth Soap. It's made from coconut oil, palm oil and extra virgin olive oil, with essential oils. I have been using Tooth Soap instead of toothpaste for several years. It's wonderful!! My mouth feels great, my teeth feel really clean, my gums have improved dramatically, and I like not being exposed to the bad things found in even natural toothpastes (like fluoride, carageenan, and sodium laurel sulfate, etc. ). My cleaning in Nov of '05 showed 26 incidences of pockets of 4 or greater. My cleaning yesterday showed none. Each cleaning has improved 50% over the one before, and I get my teeth cleaned every 3 months. I know the Tooth Soap couldn't have done this by itself, but combined with Bee's program, I can definately see my body healing itself. Here are the websites where I have purchased Tooth Soap, and one jar lasts several months, so in the long run it's not any more expensive than a natural

toothpaste (if you can find a chemical free one anymore). Ginger is my favorite, with Peppermint coming in a close second:http://www.perfect- prescription. com/http://www.drbenkim .com/Machelle The fish are biting.Get more visitors on your site using Search Marketing.
