Guest guest
We have a freecycle here in Rolla, MO. Its going good right now. Haven't seen anything like canes or wheelchairs on it yet. Will keep looking. ~ Debbie Please visit our current poll: What is the impact of CMT on your financial life? /polls
Guest guest
Debbie, One of the great things about Freecycle is the ability to post a " wanted " ad for a specific item that you may be in need of. Someone that has one to get rid of can email you and privately the two of you can work out arrangements to get the item. Tomorrow is my day to go to my parent's house to help weed out their basement and Sunday is my day to weed through our own basement and gather up items to post on my group. It really is a good feeling to know that unwanted items are going to be put to good use again. ~

Guest guest
This is so cool. I didn't know my area had a freecycle group until I looked at the site. _www.freecycle.org_ (http://www.freecycle.org) I want a treadmill. We will see if I find one. Guest guest
How do I find Freecycle here in Michigan? Elaine
Guest guest
Elaine, Go to http://www.freecycle.org and do a search under Central states. You'll see Mi listed there and you'll see plenty of Freecycle networks within Mi. I own and moderate the one up here in Wexford County and we have groups in surrounding areas such as Traverse City, Mt. Pleasant, Manistee, etc... If you have any more questions feel free to email me personally as well. ~

Guest guest
Thanks so much for spreading the word about Freecycle, but i already know about and belong to this group. A few months ago i put in for a printer, but 1 person wanted me to pick up in the next 14 hours, another person said their printer didnt work correctly but i could have it anyway. The main problem for me is that i dont have the strength or energy to pick it up. I dont have a car, can't drive one if i did b/c of balance, sensory and double vision problems. Even considered taking the subway and using a shopping cart but i dont have the energy or stamina. Have very serious problems with maintaining my blood pressure while standing, have to bring along a portable collapsable chair when i leave the house. When i leave the house its like going on a cross continent trip. Would use a car service but that would cost too much. Dont want to appear like an ingrate or a whiner, i think its a wonderful group. I guess I'll have to wait until.....? Until my health improves enough for me to make the round trip. When that happens i have sooooo much i want to do. Many ppl have it worse than i do, like in my previous posting. We all just try to carry on as best as we can, and do what we can to help one another. Guest guest
ZUZU Send another WANT for a printer, explain your housebound situation and maybe someone will deliver one to you. Just keep trying, you may well be surprised. mjh In a message dated 1/26/2006 2:36:53 AM Eastern Standard Time, bushkee3@... writes: Thanks so much for spreading the word about Freecycle, but i already know about and belong to this group. Guest guest
Zuzu, do you have a friend or relative who could run the errand and do the " pickup " for you? I know that people here post that they also need the help actually getting the item (whatever it is) and they might explain briefly why they can't pick it up themselves. For example, I could post that I need a 3- or 4- function printer/copier/fax (/scanner) machine but that I am housebound with chronic pain and I also need help getting it delivered to me. Would something like that be possible? > > Thanks so much for spreading the word about Freecycle, but i > already know about and belong to this group. Glad that you got a puter and got online and found the group, one step at a time. Hopefully a printer will come along soon too somehow. You are doing good to be online! Guest guest
Also check out the group Freecycle. I'm on our local chapter, and every now and then there is some really great stuff. And it's all free. Peace, love, laughter “My friend has a baby. I'm recording all the noises he makes so later I can ask him what he meant.”MorningGlory113@... wrote: Jenn...done all at once, yes! it does appear to be expensive. I don't eat cheese, but I do have a nice cheese grater someone gave me (start checking yard sales in the summer), but you can also get the hand held graters at a Dollar Store and they grate fine. I have a great stainless steel juicer that I got for $10 (plus $5.00 shipping) on eBay last year. My best friend is my food processor...$29.95 at an outlet store and it will last me for years. I use it at least once every single day. You can even use it as a blender ...2 appliances in one for $29.95. I have a nut and seed grinder I bought for $10 over 15 years ago. You can probably get a new one for $10 now as they are more popular (as coffee grinders) than they were back then. Decide which appliance you will use the most and start looking around for sales, etc. I got my blender and my bread machine both on freecycle.org for nothing! I also got my gallon glass jars that I use for water and juices for free on my local freecycle. Don't get overwhelmed. There are ways to get things dirt cheap if you have patience and do a little hunting around. Gloria What are the most popular cars?
