Hi

From the manual

Take the multivitamin at three times the dose recommend by the label on the

bottle of vitamins that you have

Purchased. Do not start the vitamins until 2 Weeks after Surgery. Then,

REMEMBER, you need to take vitamins for the

Rest of your Life. Numerous vitamin brands are probably acceptable. You

should select one that includes IRON in the list

Of minerals. Vitamins have iron and can upset your stomach but they are

absolutely necessary. If they cause nausea,

Stop them for a day or two and then restart and begin with one a day with

meals and build up slowly to the three a day.

Wal-Mart sells a brand called " OneSource " Multivitamins. One of these three

times a day is a good choice. Children's

Chewable vitamins contain lower amounts of vitamins particularly B12 and

they are not recommended.

Warning: The Gastric Bypass is very effective in causing weight loss because

it causes malabsorption of fat and calories,

Which is good for weight loss. But, the Gastric Bypass also causes

malabsorption of some vitamins and minerals, which is

Potentially dangerous to you.

Note: Most Drugs and Medications are NOT malabsorbed after Laparoscopic

Mini-Gastric Bypass .

Remember: It is very important that you plan on taking high doses of

multivitamins for the rest of your life after

Laparoscopic Mini-Gastric Bypass .

-- Vitamin List

I was wondering if anyone would mind writting me to tell me which

Vitamins they are taking and how many MG and How often. I know what we

Are to take from our manual but the manual I have is 3 years old. I

Was curious to see if it has changed.

I have started taking my vitamins yesterday again after about a 6 month

Period of not taking them. I have been sooooo tired lately with no

Energy and just don't feel like getting up and going in the morning. I

Already feel the difference. Is that possible already to feel this

Good or is it in my head? I know I was missing something.

Thanks,

Secor

Hi ,

I take the following every day;

3 Centrum Performance Multivitamins

3 Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements (1000mg)

3 Hair Skin & Nails supplements from Walmart

3 GNC Ironchel 18 (Iron) supplements

1 Vitamin C (1000mg)

3 GNC Glucosamine supplements (500mg)

1 B12 supplement (1000mcg)

plus Whey protein shake and Creatine for breakfast

I don't take extra Calcium or Tums because my levels have always tested fine

with the Calcium I get from my Centrum. I do take extra Iron because I get

mildly anemic without the supplements.

The manual explains why each of these items can be beneficial. I used to take

Metamucil and still do occasionally for relief of constipation caused by the

Iron supplements.

I hope this is helpful. I am 15 months postop now and my Labs are great.

(Just got my latest results back yesterday and everything is fine). I have them

done every 3 months to ensure everything is going ok with the Iron especially.

My Iron level is at the low end of the range, but that is normal for me.

best regards,

Markham Lee

Ultimately ....death. I know that may sound melodramatic but vitamin

and mineral deficiencies can be very serious business. I am not

tempting fate!

Malnutrition causes death. It effects everything from your hair to

your toenails and everything in-between. Skin liver kidneys heart

lungs blood nerves circulatory system-- everything. Nutrition is the

fuel humans live on.
