Guest guest
Hi, I'll have to print this out and save it. My skin has always been so dry and flaky, even in the summer months but winters the worst. I stumbled on another very good skin conditioner. It was driving me crazy one day, scratched till I bled. While in the shower, I washed with no soap but used baking soda and then rinsed it off with watered down vinegar. Stung like the dickens but by that night, I felt better. OK, tried it again the next day. Hummmm, I was on to something. Been using baking soda and watered down vinegar rinse for about a year now and (knock on wood) no more dry, itchy, scaly patches. Just be careful when washing your face, I thought I had blinded myself, lol. I have checked into every soap making page I could find looking for a way to make a baking soda bath bar but no luck. Any ideas? faye
Guest guest
Tracey, The main cause of eczema is “internal pollution” (ingesting substances such as pollutants, heavy metals, drugs, metabolic waste products, toxins produced by yeast, and toxins made in our body as a result of allergic reactions). Eczema can be improved by changing your diet, not putting stuff on your skin, although that may help somewhat – it’s not a “forever” cure. Nutrition can be improved by the consumption of whole foods, fresh juices, super foods supplements and food concentrates. It should be kept in mind that the best eczema diet is one where you consume only original foods, or foods modified minimally, instead of consuming isolated or synthetic compounds (single amino acids, single essential fatty acids, vitamins or minerals). From foods, our bodies must derive all 50+ essential nutrients, on a daily basis, to function in a healthy way. Deficiency of any of these essential nutrients can lead to degenerative processes and degenerative diseases such as eczema. It's difficult to define the impact of a particular nutrient on any specific disease. The reason is that nutrients work together synergistically, not separately, to improve physiological function, reduce disease risk and help the body defend itself against disease producing processes. For example, it has been scientifically proven through clinical research that individuals with eczema appear to have deficiencies in essential fatty acids. BUT, instead of taking essential fatty acids as individual supplements (i.e., fish oil), it is always better to eat foods high in essential fatty acids. Remove offending foods – beef, chicken, pork (acid producing) – eat 75% alkalizing foods, 25% acid foods; remove all dairy products; high-glycemic grains; breads/yeasts; hydrogenated oils and margarines (plastic foods); alcohol, regular and decaffeinated coffee and tea, regular and diet soft drinks, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, food colorings, additives and man-made synthetic vitamin and mineral supplements (use whole food supplements (super foods) such as bee pollen, blue green algae, etc.) I have a friend who cured herself of eczema by diet alone.
