Guest guest
Patti, You should take the Actigal...regardless if you have a galbladder....you still can have bile duct back up.....you should take the priolesec or protonix .....READ YOUR MANUEL.... Kim W >>> pemmett@... 04/19/04 09:42PM >>> Hello, I went for my three month check up today and my Dr. was very pleased with the loss, I have gone from 316 to 255. My question is this, I stopped nighttime prilosec a couple of weeks ago as I felt fine, never had heartburn or gas or anything. So, I stopped it. I never have taken actigal as I have no gall bladder, it was removed 5 years ago. Should I be taking these still? I know what it says in the manual but how many of you are still taking these? Thanks for the input. Redondo Pattie
Guest guest
Hi, I am almost four years out and I only take the antacids when needed. Actigal is a different story. aW -- prilosec? Guest guest
My suggestion is that you discuss this with the CLOS staff. Speaking strictly as a lay person it was my understanding that even if you don't have a gallbladder the Actigal is needed - you can still have a stone in the bile ducts without having a gallbladder. Rapid weight loss is VERY hard on the gallbladder. I would also go with the recommendation of the CLOS staff concerning the Prilosec. Having no symptoms of heartburn, gas, etc. doesn't necessarily mean that you don't " need " the medication for some other purpose. Be well. in GA MGB 10/04/00 > Hello, > > I went for my three month check up today and my Dr. was very pleased with > the loss, I have gone from 316 to 255. Guest guest
the Prilosec or Protonix is to reduce the amount of stomach acid your body makes. Remember you have a little tummy, to much acid just goes out into your intestines. This acid can eat up the lining of your stomach every 3 weeks. Imagine what too much in your intestines does. But dont worry, your stomach automatiacally replaces that lining every three weeks too. Not sure what your intestines do....My protonix is my best friend....
