Peta, haven't heard back from you yet... but it really sounds like your body is telling you it needs help... water fasting for a few days, juice fasting, Do you eat mostly raw? or ..... Add lemon to your drinking water.. how much are you drinking (water)? What kind of tea? How much coffee? Hi Peta,

Well I am not certain we can answer that question with the info you have

provided us so far. However, I am going to go out on a limb here and

state that most likely your diet and/or lifestyle is doing you in. Not

knowing either, completely, makes it very difficult to determine just

where you are having the problems. Most likely it is your diet either

current or past or both catching up with you. Do you eat any grains?

Sugars (honey, molasses, processed sugars)? Do you use any dairy? Do you

eat any cooked foods (fried, baked, broiled, toasted, nuked

(microwaved)? Are you eating any flesh foods?

From the sounds of your description I would venture to guess you have

several things going on. 1) you have some food allergies that you may

need to address. 2) you are consuming or have lots of sugary foods. 3)

You are cooking (toasting, baking, broiling, roasting, frying) your

foods thus making them toxic to your body.

Dairy, sugars, and grain products are not good for the human body and

are the major causes of food allergies. Also, you may be suffering from

inflammation somewhere in your body which will raise the CRP

(C-reactive proteins) levels of your blood. This can lead to a whole

cascade of negative events within the body. Most people have

inflammation in some areas of their body and are never aware of it. This

is mostly caused by environmental factors and the food we eat or drink.

Coffee and teas (not herbal teas that contain no caffeine) can really

zap your adrenals which are tied into your thyroid.

My opinion, which is not necessarily shared by anyone else on this list,

is to change your diet to a 100% raw living foods diet. Cut out all

coffee, teas, sugars, grains, meats. If you feel you must have something

cooked then boil it or steam it. Any other form of cooking causes the

formation of AGE's (advanced glycated end-products). This is where the

sugars in the food bind and twist the proteins out of their normal shape

(denaturing them) making them toxic to the body. It is also called the

Maillard Reaction.

Also, your medications can be causing you all sorts of problems as well,

especially thyroid meds. IBS can be, and is usually caused by food

allergies. Same with headaches and sinusitis. Hayfever usually means the

liver is toxic as the liver cannot do its job properly. People with

healthy, toxic free (or near so) livers don't suffer from allergies.

Food allergies exist because of weak intestinal walls that allow

undigested food particles to enter into the blood stream. The body

cannot utilize these undigested food particles and thus sees them as

invaders which creates allergic reactions.

I would suggest you find a copy of " Stopping Inflammation - Relieving

the Cause of Degenerative Diseases " by Appleton PhD and give it a

good read.

Now whether you work or not really is beside the point. The issue here

is do you wish to regain your health and what are you willing to do

about it? Nobody is going to do it for you. Not any doctor, not any

medication, not even me. You have to make your own decisions and do the

work yourself. I, and the rest of this group can point you in the right

direction and give you lots of support. But the onus is on you Peta.

Hi Don,

The idea of eating raw foods on a cold day does not

appeal to me and would stick to steamed.

I usually have toast for breakfast, rye bread not made

with wheat, with soy margaring and it could have

(depending on the day and mood), tasty cheese,

leatherwood honey (tasmanian), vegemite, ginger

marmalade, apricot jam, fig and honey jam or Peanut

butter either on its own or with honey. I also have a

cup of plunger coffee for breakfast, breakfast could

be either 7.30 in the morning or near lunch-time

depending on the day of the week and what jobs I am

doing that week.

Lunch is a salad roll with either roast chicken, roast

turkey or curried egg.

At work I drink a lot of fruit juice (without oranges

in it as that sets me off) and water. At home I drink

either water or tea whether it is black, green or earl

grey depending on the mood.

Dinner again depends on the day could be free range

omeletes with vegetables and chips, pizza on friday

nights (until we pick up my new bread maker next week

as my last one wore out with continual work over a 6

year period) and will be making my own pizza dough

again...pasta, rice dishes, but consists a majority of

vegetarian based. I do not boil except for the rice,

I do not fry except for the chips, I only toast bread

otherwise most of my meals are steamed, cooked slowly

in the frying pan (omeletes) or baked. I try to eat

or drink yoghurt once a day and that is home-made, I

don't drink milk except for the occassional milo at my

saturday job when I need that chocolate fix, I don't

smoke and only drink mainly red wine for the alcohol

side of things.

Sorry Suzi,

With the time zone difference there is usually a delay

in responding and I had to work today....

I really can't fast for a couple of days as I work odd

hours and if my job is high risk, I cannot afford to

be un-allert on the job or I could put the company or

myself at risk (I work in a high volume service

station). I cannot take time off as I work as a

casual (due to the income not on call, I am classed as

a permanent casual) and if I take time off I wont get

paid for it.

Water I would say I drink about 3-5 300 ml glasses a

day, then I drink juice (not containing oranges), tea

(black, green, earl grey) coffee, yoghurt and

sometimes smoothies made out of soy milk and fruit. I

can't drink more water as I spend more time awake at

night going to the toilet so I will not be doing that!

I will have to check out the complete nutrition in the

files and see what that is about.

Hi Peta,

It is not an easy thing to overcome, this idea that we need hot foods

when it is cold out. Quite difficult actually but not impossible.

However, it is all choice, one we each get to make for ourselves.

Looking at your diet I can see many items that are known allergens and

could be exacerbating your problems. You must be aware that all of this

did not just come from recent history but has been slowly developing

since...well, since you were first conceived.

It won't disappear in a day and may take many months or even longer,

depending on you and the decisions that you make concerning your health.

Peta, I see Don answered you - he is right... you did not get this way overnite... and it will take some to get the toxins out... are the juices you are drinking "real juice" on concentrated stuff? I would go to an herbal tea (like green tea) vs earl gray.. Limit yourself to a cup of coffee a day.. I would also eliminate the soy (but that is me)... Ok, you say you can't do a water or juice fast.. how about going on a raw diet for a week? Say one day fruits, the next veggies... or all fruits or veggies? I think you will begin to see a difference.. Also, adding real lemon to your water will help clear the mucous out of the body and will thus make you less tired from your sinuses, etc. I would also look into organic iron (in the files) . And definitely the complete nutrition. there are alot of recipes in the files to help you... or just grab some fruit or salads,
