OK, I don't usually post my numbers on the scale more than once a month (I

don't believe in frequent weighing) but going to WW has just been great for

my self esteem, AND for my weight loss! Since March 1, when I joined the

program, I've lost 10 pounds! And that means I've lost a total of 105

pounds since I had this surgery last May!

I don't mean to brag (well, maybe just a little bragging) -- I am thrilled

with the weight loss, but what I really am saying is that joining a support

group like WW is a GOOD thing. With my MGB tool, I don't really even feel

like I'm " dieting " ...I'm just making better choices. Prior to joining the

program, I was pretty much stuck at the same weight for a couple months.

And I, like others on this forum, was getting pretty discouraged. I upped

my exercise, and that helps a little, but changing the types of foods I was

eating has helped even more. My credit card is getting a workout from all

the clothes I've bought lately, but other than that, it's all good.

Far be it for me to give dieting advice to anyone -- I'm not anywhere near

goal yet! -- but if you are stuck, I would suggest you give WW a try. Just

my two cents, of course.

It looks like I may be doing a 5K in mid-April. I'll keep you posted. I

hope I haven't " jinxed " my weight loss by talking about this!

Take care, all! :)

Way to go Joanie!

Most importantly you " shook things up " . By jump starting your metabolism with

the additional exercise and by watching what you are eating more closely, you

have started to lose weight again. When you are on a plateau for a significant

period of time you probably have to " shake things up " or you may stay in a

narrow weight range for months! I had the same problem....then started

exercising more regularly (3x per week for 1 hour at the Gym) and cut out my

daily banana and lowered my carb intake and presto...back on the weight loss

trail! So for those of you who are on a plateau...my advice is shake things up!

Besy regards,

Yeah, I agree. I'm now burning about 500-700 cals/day, and eating clean.

It's a potent combination. About 55 pounds to go!

Hi Joan:

Good Luck at WW. I joined weight watchers yesterday. I am down 75

since the surgery (August 75) and down a total of 92 since last

mother's day. But I am not sure if it is a plateau or my OLD eating

habits are resurfacing. So I ran myself over to WW and hopefully it

will help. Although I haven't lost weight in the past 2 months I

still have lost 2 dress sizes.

I am estatic. Yesterday I tried on some size 14 clothes - and

although they are a bit snug I could do them up. What a change from

a size 26 last May.

Good Luck and God Bless

Thanks, Donna! Yes, i've been doing WW for about a month (maybe a little

longer) and it is going really well. Since I joined, I've lost about 12

pounds! So I definitely recommend it to those who feel themselves slipping

back into their old eating habits.

I still have about 55 pounds to get to my goal of 125 pounds -- I may make

that higher as I get closer to the weight; we'll see -- but I am very

optimistic about the future right now!
