What I have read is that it's generally a good idea to check the uv (on a site such as weather underground ( http://www.wunderground.com ) ) and don't gaze unless the uv is less than 2. I have not always followed this rule, but try to stay as close to sunrise as is practical for me.

I learned about sungazing on this site: http://www.solarhealing.com and it explains to stay within an hour of sunrise or sunset and build up your times by 10 seconds a day, starting at 10 seconds and then increasing by 10 seconds each day. I personally quicly developed such a hunger for sunshine that I deviated from the "approved" plan and increased my times more quickly. Also, the "plan" says once you reach 45 minutes to drop back down to 15 min a day, but, I have neglected to do this and when I tried, did not fare as well with my leg in general and do much better when I stay at 40 minutes. I also read that it takes the total volume of blood in the body a little less than 40 minutes to pass through the eyes and that in the eyes is the only place that the blood is exposed to the full spectrum of sunlight. And I do

stand with bare feet on sand, and around here, we have lots of sand... I do notice when I am gazing regularly that it affects my appetite and sometimes I just forget to eat and don't feel hungry, while other times I eat but have much greater moderation and self control over impulse eating. Sincerely, Cathie

Yes, but only when the sun is shining which hasn't been much lately.
