Guest guest
My boyfriend is sick, feels nauseous and feverish with a headache. I don't have much on hand (tonight was gonna be leftover sloppy joe night), but I threw some veggies in a pot of water to boil to make him some broth. How long minimum does it need to boil to get the benefits from the veggies into the broth? There's some celery, carrots, red bell pepper, a tad of onion and a tad of garlic with some parsley and spices (very little seasoning). He did drink some tea when I gave it to him a while ago, so I'm thinking if I hand it to him and say "this will make you feel better" then I can probably get him to drink some. He hasn't eaten anything all day except a cup of apple juice and a cup of tea (and coffee early this morning). He's diabetic, so it's important he get something (I can't even wake him well enough to test his blood sugar as it is now, hoping some broth will wake him up). Should I puree the veggies from the broth (in the blender) and try to sneak some into the broth so he eats some of the actual veggies? Or would that make him more prone to puke?
