Hi ~

I am 1 year out and just stopped taking the protonix a month or so ago. I

still occasionally have reflux problems and will take it on an as needed bases

now. I hab been taking Prilosec for several years before the surgery, so that

may make a difference. We are all a little different, so if you aren't having

any difficulties now, give it a try and see how you do. You will know if it

is too soon for you, if you start having that burning reflux sensation.

Good luck.

Hi ,

I had to take it everyday for quite awhile until I had a Prevpac treatment

for H. Pylori. After that, I take it only when necessary.

drug

I know the manual says to stop taking Protonix/Prilosec at 3 or 4

months post op. I would like to know if anyone has had any problems

after stopping these drugs as I have passed the 3 month point and am

considering stopping but would like some feedback first.

I am 7 months out and still take my Protonix every day....It can't hurt

you, just prevent you from an ulcer...my opinion, better safe than

sorry.
