Guest guest
I know we are all different but I started the vitamins a week ago and I stop in the middle of three of my spread out meals and take the vitamin. I then have some food in my stomach and more to follow and I have had no problems with them. If you are having trouble and not doing the vitamins this way, try it. It works for me. Thank You Dr. R for caring enough to round them up when they stray. God bless, Dave Joplin 03-04-03 281/270 and under reconstruction I will update my weight lose once a week. As I am not going to play scale watcher everyday.

Guest guest
Dr. R thanks for being willing to set us straight. I want to encourage all the new post-ops out there that it does get better. I too had trouble swallowing the vitamin and other pills, but especially the vitamin. I had never had trouble swallowing pills before. I would take a handful at a time. I am a little over 3 months post-op and I had trouble with this until a couple weeks ago. It has gotten much better. I no longer feel like it is getting stuck before it reaches my stomach. I think it just takes time for the healing and so forth to take place. Now, I can swallow the vitamin with no problem at all. My biggest problem is remembering to take the one in the middle of the day. I have a sign up at my desk that says " Remember to take your vitamins " and I still forget. Now, co-workers walk into my office and ask " have you taken your vitamin? " . I take it right away!!!! Anyway, hang it there people, it will get better. (Greenville, SC) 12/16/02 298/252 P.S. Dr. R when are you going to come to Greenville and hold a seminar? I know there would be hundreds interested. If you would like I could see if it could be held at my church, if you don't mind standing in the pulpit of another Baptist church. Guest guest
Dr. R, there are several varieties of One Source vitamins. May we take any variety we choose, or do you prefer we stick to one in particular? >From: " Dr Rutledge " <Dr_Rutledge@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Listen to your Dr R ;-) >Date: Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:49:03 -0500 > >Hello, > > > >I sometimes wonder why people do not listen to me. > > > >Recently there have been several emails about One Source vitamins causing >either nausea or various types of abdominal pain. > > > >For example: > >I am 2 months post op and have tried to take the One Source > >I can get them down now, but every time I try them I > >feel nauseated, and get light cramping > > > >And > >I bought some One Source vitamins and > >began taking them two days ago......I've been nauseated for two days > >and I also have an irritated feeling in my stomach that almost feels > >I guess it's the Iron or something in the One > >Source, but it does not make my stomach feel very good. > > > >The answer is very simple, the One Source vitamins have iron and that can >upset your stomach. > > > >There are a variety of things to do to avoid this: take them with food, >before meal, do not take more than one at once, spread them out during the >day, take them before the Citrucel. > > > >The answer is NOT to take other vitamins unless you have checked the >ingredients and are sure they have the same amount of vitamins in each >tablet. > > > >Picking your own vitamin that does not have iron can lead to deficiency >states such as iron deficiency anemia or other problems > > > >For example: > > I too have had problems > >with those vitamins....they tore me up. > >Now I take a prenatal vitamin that is chewable (Wrong - RR) > > > >Then later: > > any body ever have feelings of their arms and hands being >extremely >heavy....kind of painful, like they are trying to go to sleep, but >can't....know it sounds weird, but I've been having this restless >feeling now for a while. > > > >i.e. > > > >Wrong vitamins -> deficiency problems. > > > >Conclusion: Try to do what we recommend.. > > > >;-) > > > >RR > > _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? Guest guest
OH MY GOSH!!!!! THANKS DR R!! Nothing like hearing it straight from the horse's mouth! Dr R? can you post something similar to the pre-op list telling people they are EXPECTED to follow your directions after surgery? I see so many who have not even HAD surgery yet and are already looking for shortcuts and substitutions. > Hello, > > > > I sometimes wonder why people do not listen to me. > > > > Recently there have been several emails about One Source vitamins causing > either nausea or various types of abdominal pain. > > > > For example: > > I am 2 months post op and have tried to take the One Source > > I can get them down now, but every time I try them I > > feel nauseated, and get light cramping > > > > And > > I bought some One Source vitamins and > > began taking them two days ago......I've been nauseated for two days > > and I also have an irritated feeling in my stomach that almost feels > > I guess it's the Iron or something in the One > > Source, but it does not make my stomach feel very good. > > > > The answer is very simple, the One Source vitamins have iron and that can > upset your stomach. > > > > There are a variety of things to do to avoid this: take them with food, > before meal, do not take more than one at once, spread them out during the > day, take them before the Citrucel. > > > > The answer is NOT to take other vitamins unless you have checked the > ingredients and are sure they have the same amount of vitamins in each > tablet. > > > > Picking your own vitamin that does not have iron can lead to deficiency > states such as iron deficiency anemia or other problems > > > > For example: > > I too have had problems > > with those vitamins....they tore me up. > > Now I take a prenatal vitamin that is chewable (Wrong - RR) > > > > Then later: > > any body ever have feelings of their arms and hands being > extremely > heavy....kind of painful, like they are trying to go to sleep, but > can't....know it sounds weird, but I've been having this restless > feeling now for a while. > > > > i.e. > > > > Wrong vitamins -> deficiency problems. > > > > Conclusion: Try to do what we recommend.. > > > > ;-) > > > > RR
Guest guest
Hello, thanks Dr R for commenting on my posting. Because I was having such torture of taking the One Source Vitamins my pcp switched me over even though I did Tell him what YOU wanted us to be on....he said the Natachews would be as good. I do realize what you recommend, but live 13 hours away,,,,so when I had more trouble I THOUGHT I should do what pcp says as he is closer. Now that you have clarified that matter, can we try the ONE SOURCE by crushing them up and then taking them? I had emailed you, but did not get a reply. thanks, Dee 6-8-00 > Hello, > > > > I sometimes wonder why people do not listen to me.
Guest guest
Hi, Nope no crushing. If you crush the tablet it lets out the iron and it tastes worse. It is a matter of taking with something. Guest guest
I have a question regarding the vitamins. Should they be taken all at once (if possible) or 1 times a day?
Guest guest
Dr R's post says not to take them all at once. Take one tablet three times a day. Crela
