Guest guest
It all depends on the person Celebrex did nothing for me and I tried to stay with it for about six months before switching to Vioxx which worked right away. So it's just like everything else. According to what Dr.H. said they are doing a study right now on Celebrex and in time something is going to come out on it as well. Guest guest
Hello, I am interested in the messages concerning Celebrex.........I was told by a doctor that they will take celebrex off the market just like they have Vioxx. Has anyone else heard the same thing? Guest guest
Hi My understanding is that they are looking into it as it is also a COX2 inhibitor. But that is all that I know. Guest guest
Both Celebrex and Vioxx are 2 inhibitors - I think they will both be taken off the market. (I am a registered nurse) I have tried both of them and felt " weird " when I took them - thank God I listened to my body and stopped! I have taken Bextra without any problems - maybe you would try the Bextra!
Guest guest
I think the safety profile with Vioxx was worse than Celebrex right from the beginning. However, Celebrex will definitely be scrutinized closely, and it wouldn't surprise me if it also got pulled. Unfortunately, the COX 2 drugs haven't really fulfilled their early promise. In general, NSAIDs like naprosen or ibuprofen are as or more effective, and they seem to be cardioprotective. Not sure what the CLOS team thinks of prudent use of NSAIDS at this point. (chronic use would probably be a no-no because of GI problems) Joanie >From: " Marleen Anconetani " <lovelymarleen@...> >Reply- > >Subject: RE: Re: VIOXX vs Celebrex >Date: Wed, 13 Oct 2004 12:33:15 +0000 > > >Hello, > >I am interested in the messages concerning Celebrex.........I was told by a >doctor that they will take celebrex off the market just like they have >Vioxx.
