Happy Friday, All!

It has been two years to the day since my life dramatically changed!

I had my MGB in Durham with Dr. R on Wednesday, August 9, 2000.

On the morning of surgery, I weighed 307 pounds (ugh!), had a BMI

of 52, severe sleep apnea, tremendous joint pain, a 55-inch waist

(double ugh!), acid reflux and an extremely sedentary lifestyle.

As of this morning, I weighed 165 pounds (woo-hoo!), have a BMI of 28,

no sleep apnea, a 34-inch waist, no joint pain, no acid reflux, and a

very active and happy life!

In total, I have lost 142 pounds and almost 89 inches! The best part

is that I'm still losing! I still lose between 2-5 pounds a month. I

was always worried that I'd stop before I hit a healthy weight because

I was a " slow loser " according to Dr. R's charts. Well....I guess my

body just responds slowly, but keeps on going (like the Energizer

Bunny, I guess!). I don't know where I'll stop, but will be happy

with whereever I land.

I feel wonderful and have more energy than I ever thought possible. I

have had absolutely no problems post-op (other than a shrinking wallet

from trying to stay in clothes that fit)! I have twin 7-year old

sons, and they now have trouble keeping up with me! My husband

actually took me shopping 2 weeks ago to 's Secret. I was

like a kid in a candy store! I've never been able to buy pretty under

clothes and a whole new world was opened to me!

I'm sorry I don't offer more support on this list--I'm just not around

my computer like I used to be. I do spend quite a bit of time working

with pre-ops and being a contact. I hope that continues!

I've sent Tricia (www.mgbfriends.com) new pics that I'm sure will be

posted in the next couple of days.

If anybody has any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know!
