Guest guest
<jumping out of lurkerdom> One thing to note when using glass mason jars in freezing.......lots of foodsaver people do. In the unlikely event of the jar breaking in the freezer, put a sock around it before you put it in. Heh. What else can you do with all those mismatched pairs of socks? ANYway, this way the glass will not be all over the freezer.Lynnin CA.On 1/28/06, <deuteronomy2929@...> wrote: I don't see why not. Just put the lid insert on, not the tightening ring. And make sure to leave enough room for expansion. I've never tried itm but this makes sense. I'll try it with water today and let you know how it works out. Guest guest
Well, it worked just fine. The glass didn't break and I was able to put the tigthening ring on the lid insert and tighten it down. Now I am going to let it thaw, and see if it retains an airtight seal. See if it "pops" when I open it, like they do when something is canned. My sister is doing the herbalist thing, and I learn a lot from her. Love this list, and all who supply their knowledge! Happy New Moon in Aquarius tomorrow!
