Guest guest
Dear ne: I can only tell you what Dr. Druker, the doctor who developed Gleevec, said to me. If from what he can tell that I had all these side effects with Gleevec, I would have rather died than been on Interferon. Luckily, I stuck with the Gleevec and made it through the worst. I became transfusion dependent which is unheard of. Good luck with the interferon. The only thing I can offer is that Interferon patients who were not responding were put on Gleevec. Some patients never did have any reaction to Interfeorn other than flu like symptoms. I am only posting because there was NOT one side effect that I did NOT have except the rash. So, I empathize with your situation and thought I would throw in what Dr. Druker said to me. He said it as a quip because I hit his top 10% of all patients with as many reactions as I had on Gleevec.
