Just wanted to post my latest finding. Over the past few months I have been

experiencing severe hair loss. This is a symptom that comes and goes for me

through the years. Anyway, I had alot of bloodwork done and was found to be

very low in zinc which can be a major cause of hair loss and immune

dysfunction.. From what I have read this is a common deficiency in PWC's. I

have read that zinc and magnesium compete for absorption. I thought that

possibly since I had recently raised my intake of mag supplement maybe I had

caused a borderline zinc deficiency to become severe enough to cause

symptoms. Anyway, I had read quite a few posts on hair loss and wanted to

suggest this as a cause. I began supplements this week and will post results

over time . a

I saw Dr R today at clinic and he advised me which I am losing alot of hair

parital due to the fact that my hair is extremely curly and long and gets in

knots. But he advised everyone at clinic of the zinc study and suggest that

we at least try the zinc 300mg a day to see if this helps. I get 75mg from

my vitamins and cal mag and zinc pills so I'm going to take the Doc's advise

and add 200 more mg a day to see if this helps. I never hurts to try and hey

if it will keep my drains unclogged and my head full of hair I'll try

anything.
