Guest guest
If we go to crystal palance, they have american food there also. I'll call both places and see what they can do for us, I'll call crystal palace first. Also, can I get more ideas about timing, I am thinking 7:30 - 9:30 and yes, we are all going to be up all frickin night then anyway (sorry, my Joisey goil is coming out) Re: Friday dinner This sounds good to me. I must be the odd one out. I don't like Chinese, I would go though so that I could be with the rest of you. Guest guest
Please do not make it too late for dinner or too far out of Durham. It is had to see to drive at night. And mostly the tummy is not good with eating late. Then we have the picnic the next day. I do not know, maybe somewhere closer to were we out of towners know like the hotel areas , or doctor's R office area or the hospital area. Can any locals think of somewhere like that that has a room, I am sure that a regular restaurant isn't going to be happy to have a lot of people together on a friday night to take up the whole restuarant. Someone local will have to check things out and see if it will be ok and more or less take a head count. Please try to keep it local and not so late. Guest guest
Rosemary, I think that a fairly large group of people have expressed a desire to spend the evening together and they all seem to be under the consensus that Chinese is a good choice. Also, with people coming from so many directions it will be difficult to pick a time and a place convienent to all. I like the idea of 7pm and finding a place with a private room. I think since eating time is an issue for some 7-10pm would be a good time frame to spend there. If folks want to hang longer than that, there are always places to go. As to the issue of local, what is local? The Raleigh ?Durham? Chapel Hill area is so close together it all kinds blends. I suggest that you hook up with some local people and catch a ride in with them or follow them. Are you bringing your family? Will you be staying with other MGB'ers? Where there's a way there's a will to work this out so everyone can be happy. We have overcome morbid obesity, we can fix this for everyone with some reasonable flexibility. I hope this came across the way it was meant. Cheryl
Guest guest
I can understand not being real late, doesn't it get dark around 9pm now? You don't have to stay to the end. I'm sure there will be folks leaving before. Also, if we end up driving down from VA, the later the better for us and we can maybe catch the tale end of the dinner. If we don't make it that's fine too but we can shoot for it anyway. My hubby is very slowwwwwwww in getting going so it is difficult to plan around pocky Joe here *grin*. aW Re: Re: Friday dinner Please do not make it too late for dinner or too far out of Durham. Guest guest
My family and I would like to attend the dinner also. Could someone email me with the details and directions also. I hope to be staying at the Hawthorne Suites, but haven't been able to contact Medstay. Maybe someone could give me directions from the Hawthorne? Or maybe we could follow someone there? Thanks! Guest guest
RE: dinner on Friday-- I was looking for a place within walking distance of the group of hotels in r Circle. How important is that to you all? Do you have that preference, or is close driving distance just as good?
