Guest guest
Rhonda, I have never had anything but support from people at WW and from most of the people here. There are a few however that believe that surgery for them was a cure - I don't believe that for me. I believe it made me eat less but I still know that if I really wanted to I could consume a large amount of food in a day and therefore not get to my goal. WW works on my head and on my eating habits more than anything else. It is the right thing for me! Guest guest
Absolutely! A woman came in there the other day who had a RNY at the first of the year - started out at approximately 450. She was now at about 350 but desperately needing help with a " food plan " . She had no clue! I strongly encouraged her to join! Guest guest
Absolutely! My WW leader (who is head of the entire SE region) didn't agree with my decision (she thought I could do it on my own) but once she knew how committed I am to the surgical process as well as the WW process she knows that I will finally be able to realize my goal! On another really good note: My husband Mike who is about 6 feet tall and started out weighing a little over 270 has gotten " with the program " and is eating healthier too as a by-product of the way I am cooking, etc. He set a goal for himself and is 3 pounds away from reaching it which was to be at 250 by the time we go on vacation. He knows that taking " baby steps " and setting small goals is the way to go! I am sooo proud of him. Even bought him smaller shorts last night!!! Re: WW - > <<Why not tell them you had the surgery? In a small town like ours, a lot of people already knew as I know about half of the 60 people in the meeting. I don't really think it matters to most people, they all view weight loss as a struggle and most applaud any weight loss that is successful. My sister's husband is doing the same thing. He weighs about 280 at 6'3 so he's pretty chunky. He is doing this program with her and has lost 9 lbs in a week. Darn men.... Rudie, my husband, on the otherhand is 6'4 and 175 so he doesn't need to lose a pound, however HE does need to eat more fruits and veggies. So, it's a win win situation.
