Guest guest
Hi all, Since I had the day off, I thought I'd take this opportunity to write a long post about my anniversary. Eight month ago(on the 12th) I had my surgery with Dr R at DRH. My surgery was completely unremarkable. I woke up with only gas pains, ready to go. I went to work the next week. I had a very rough first couple of months, I know now that I was battling depression, but even with people telling my then, I was unable to see it. My weight loss looks something like this: March start- 288 April month one- 270 (18 lbs) May month two- 252 (18 lbs) (36 total) June month three- 239 (13 lbs) (49 total) July month four- 227 (12 lbs) (61 total) August month five- 216 (11 lbs) (72 total) Sept month six- 204 (12 lbs) (84 total) Octo month seven- 195 (9 lbs) (93 total) Nov month eight- 181 (14 lbs) (107 total) My starting BMI was 50, it is now 31. Just one more point, and I am no longer obese, but just plain overweight! As you can see, my weight loss is as good now as it has ever been. I hope the streak keeps up. I attribute the extra weight loss to a more active job, where I am constantly walking, never sitting. I've also joined the new Curves in town, and I really like working out there. This month I've learned that I can eat potato chips sometimes, and Halloween was hard for me, and I risked dumping for a few pieces of candy. My goal in one year was 100 lbs. I've already reached that in 8 months and I couldn't be happier. At first I was angry/jealous/upset that I wasn't a fast looser, but being a consistent one is more important to me now. I was so scared that I would quite losing at 6 months, or slow down to a crawl, and it still concerns me that I may have reached the end of my weight loss, but I am going to continue to exercise andhave faith that it'll continue to come off. I'm only 37 lbs away from my goal of 144 lbs. I'm learning to live with my new found skin, although it bothers me immensly. I tried on a pair of 12 pants the other day, and could get them zipped after I folded and crammed my fat into them. For the most part I'm still wearing mostly 16's, but some 18's, and even 14's. I can get into a M shirt, but my arm skin keeps my from wearing it. Hi to all my littermates. Hope to read your updates soon. manda 288/181 3/13/
