Congratulations - I know you have to feel like your

floating your so happy. I have people ask me if I've

lost so much I'm going to blow away yet. I just laugh

but they don't realize that I feel like I could fly

away out of pure joy. Way to go.

Donna S,

Great work, I am so happy for you. Soon it will be 100 . I am working

for that too, I had my MGB in Jan on the 26th with DrR, at that time I was

297 and am now 220, which I have been for five weeks now. I am going slow,

but as long as it keeps going down and does not start to go up, I'll take it.

In 6 months I've lost 77 lbs, so maybe by my year anniversary I too will be

1100 lbs down or close to it. Are you going to the picnic, if you do we will

surely meet.

Glad to hear you are recovering so well. The anticipation of surgery is the worst part. Your ear will lay back down soon and not stick out - as far as the ear draining . . . it seems like mine drained for a couple of weeks. Take Care!

From: "mproulx0917@..." <mproulx0917@...>cholesteatoma Sent: Sat, October 9, 2010 8:26:14 AMSubject: Post op Update

Had my surgery on Thursday and it lasted about 2 hours. Surgeon at Sunnybrook in Toronto Canada, was Dr Lin and was helpful and very informative along the way. Woke up with zero pain or vertigo. Out of recovery and home on the couch in no time. Large head bandage came off yesterday and I was a little shocked about the droopy ear and the fact it sticks out. This is likely due to the packing. Some drainage from the ear canal which I guess is normal but Ii am not sure when it should stop? There seems to be a trickle of blood into my throat, likely through the Eustachian tube. Appetite is good and energy levels are returning. Some minor aches once in a while but no need for pain meds.Surgeon said disease covered the malleus but did not enter Prussak's space as normal which was good as he did not need to disconnect the bones. No facial nerve disruption or cutting of the taste nerve. I am lucky this was found early and taken care of right away. I

know there are issues with cost and insurance in other countries but early removal is so important. My thoughts go out to those waiting for surgery or dealing with complications. Thanks to all who have offered their stories and experiences and recommendations. I will check in a couple of days to update.
