Guest guest
You are doing just fine. I rarely drink Gatorade any more, just when I have been working out. Don't worry, enjoy your journey. aW 5/00 -- I hope I'm doing okay Hi group!!!! I am a fairly new member of the MGB post op group. I had my surgery on Oct. 8. I have lost 27 pound so far. Of course I was hoping for more. My husband keeps saying, " Come on, in three weeks 27 lbs. is great! " I just am so impatient at times. My appetite is just starting to come back, and now I worry that I might eat too much (although I know I'm not). I'm sure my stomach will let me know. Some of you " seasoned " post ops, let me know if you had the same worries. After you return to a " normal diet " is the Gatorade needed as much. I just HATE it!!! Guest guest
Hi Kathy Sue, The Gatorade is very important for the first couple of years. When I had my surgery they gave me orange flavored Gatorade in the hospital and I absolutely hated it. I thought I was doomed. I drank a lot of V-8 in the beginning. Then I found all of the different Gatorade flavors and now I enjoy drinking the stuff. Try Riptide Rush or Glacier Freeze. They have more of a mellow flavor. Where about in KY are you from? Guest guest
I have eaten eggs, potatotes, any veggie, 1/3 of a sm. pot pie minus the meat, pimento cheese, peanut butter and crackers, thinly sliced turkey, a very small portion of all veggie pizza - thin crust, asst. crackers, honey wheat pretzel sticks (GREAT) and dry cereal. I am going to start to slowly introduce meat into my diet. How are you doing. Any ideas on what is going down well for you. Congratulations on the weight loss!! Keep it up. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, So nice to hear from you, this is Jan, your littermate. How are you feeling? I've lost 23 lbs, you got me beat! How long did you stay in Statesville? After I left the hospital I slept and slept...but don't think it was because of the surgery more because I needed the rest. Write back when you get a chance. How are you doing with the pepto and tums?.........gosh I have such a hard time remembering to take it as many times as we're suppose to. Jan MGB 10/8/02 213/190/? Guest guest
Kathy, I just weighed in today. I am down very close to 35 pounds. I guess that's not too bad for 6 wks. I just get soooooo worried that I am not going to get down to where I want to be, and sometimes my patience is not very good. I have family in Park City, KY which is very near Glasgow. How are you doing? Kathy Sue 380/345 MGB - 10/01/02 Re: I hope I'm doing okay Hi Kathy Sue, The Gatorade is very important for the first couple of years. Guest guest
Hi Jan, It's nice to hear from you also! How are you doing. We left Statesville on Sat. morning. Dana removed my staples on Friday afternoon. I weighed in today, and I have lost 35 pounds so far. I have a tendency to get a little impatient though. Congratulations on your 23 pound weight loss. You're doing great. I don't have any problems remembering the Tums, and I have already stopped the Pepto ( just as soon as the required 30 days were up). I am not really all that good about the yogurt and Citrucel. I know I need to take them. Gatorade is another challenge, so I stick to mainly juices and water. What are you eating so far? I am eating a little meat, any veggie I want, and potatoes. Bread is not my favorite thing, and I have not eaten any pasta yet. Write back when you have time. Keep up the good work!!!
