Let's form a posse...<any interest?>

I've been told in some areas of Texas if you're going to 'due process' the special ed. community of parents/family form a posse and support the family in need with whatever they can. It's sort of in the vien of someone going through a protracted sickness, family tradgedy or even a new neighbor...you bring over dinner some time or offer respite to give the parents some down time or help in sorting materials needed in the due process, bring your knowledge and experience or even give money, really the sky is the limit.The reason I bring this up is the Winkelman's of Parma, whose case is going to be heard in front of the Supreme Court, is fighting a battle for all us/our kids with little to no real support. They are going up against two law firms pro se. Regardless of what their due process is about they are fighting to have what is clearly written into IDEA be the law of the land and not inconsistantly enforced

across the US.They are, in the spirit of give a man a fish you feed him for a day, teach him to fish you have helped feed him for life, working for all our kids. If and when they win no parent will have to suffer this again. It is huge as without this ability LEAs can stonewall you and you would have no recourse to a higher venue unless you had lots of money and a lawyer!If you have any interest please feel free to reply,ShaneP.S.
