Guest guest
Pam, I still do the same thing too! I went to one of my favorite upscale ladies boutiques the other day to buy a special outfit for a party. The owner was helping me and I picked up an xl of an outfit. She said, " HOney, you aren't that big anymore, I bet you could wear a medium. " I thought she was crazy and picked up a large instead. Well, low and behold, I had to send her out to get the medium because the large was too big. Hooray! Keep up the good work! Alisha
Guest guest
Pam, I still find myself going to the plus sizes in department stores. I guess it is out of habit. It takes a while for our minds to adjust to our new bodies. Connie(Va) 4/11/02 238-

Guest guest
Yes.. it's like getting your brain transplanted into another body. People tell me I am thin or tiny and I just don't see it!!!!! I still see well someone who needs to lose a little weight. I don't know if I ever will see me the way others do. aW -- Still think fat I am as small as I have ever been, size 12, but I still think fat when I do things. Can I fit through there? I didn't realize I did this until my mother was watching me one day while I was deciding if I could fit through a gap between 2 people. After she pointed it out to me, I realized I think fat all the time. I don't see fat in the mirror and I know I am not fat, but I still think fat. Anybody else have this problem? Guest guest
I still have a ways to go, but I find myself stepping on ladders and then stopping to check the weight / load rating against my previous weight. I try to tackle some tasks at work that were done by brute force and my body weight, Now I can't do those things that I use to wrestle with my weight. I have injured my elbow and shoulder. It is requiring me to re-think how I go about certain tasks. Kirk- Las Vegas mgb 5-16-02 296/
Guest guest
Years ago, my aunt who was overweight most of her adult life went to Weight Watchers and lost weight. A Lot of weight. So much in fact that we who didnt' get to see her often, thought she looked ill and had lost too much weight. The one thing that she voiced then and has always stuck with me was that she still saw her self as fat. Then it was a forgein concept to me. But now, I totally understand..... Guest guest
I think we all have difficulties at times with self image. I have lost so much weight that I get a lot of attention at times and compliments. I honestly have difficulty with the compliments most of the time. So, that being said, sometimes I feel good about my weight HOWEVER, when I put on a bathing suit or stand in front of my mirror and I see all that skin hanging, I see the image of the MO women who weighed 384. I DO NOT see the healthy happy woman who weighs 180 and probably has 20-25 lbs of skin hanging off her. Does this make sense? That is the exact reason I am having cosmetic surgery in two weeks from TODAY! YIKES. Because I just want to feel normal about myself and have a positive self image for once in my life. Guest guest
You Know Cheryl, I think that is what is going on with me. I see all the flab too and think wow there is still fat in there. I would LOVE to get it taken care of and I KNOW I would look great! I'm so glad clothes covers it all lol. Yes I get alot of different responses at work from guys, but I just think they are being polite. It will take awhile for me to get used to it. aW -- Re: Still think fat I think we all have difficulties at times with self image. Guest guest
I do the same thing... looking at clothes that are too big; worry about airplane and theater seats, etc. Another funny thing was... my boyfriend asked me what size ring I wear, and I said probably a 7 or 7 1/2. I used to wear a 9, so I was guessing I was about 2 sizes smaller. He disagreed and thought my fingers looked smaller, but I insisted that had to be close to right. He bought me a ring as a gift last month, and got a size 7 1/4. It fits my thumb. I had my finger sized at the jeweler's, and I wear a 5 1/4. I couldn't have gotten that size on my pinkie 2 years ago. I am still astonished nearly every single day to realize I'm not large anymore... and I still " think fat " all the time.
