Guest guest
Kaye and all, I only lose weight for a few days out of the month. I've come to look forward to this week, and try to capitalize on it At least I'm going down and not up. I think I'm even going to brave a theme park for the 4th of July. Last time I went to one, I couldn't ride the coaster because I was too large I still worry about this, but I actually have room in seats now, with extra to spare. manda > Hi Group, > > Just real quick, I hit a plateau at about 2 mos. I lost no weight at all for > 3 weeks. I have just now lost 10 lbs in 5 days. I know my poor body is so > confused. Just thought I'd share incase there are any other people out there > that hit a plateau early on. > > Kaye/Colorado > _________________________________________________________________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
All my MGB Pals. I got to down 90 LBS in 3 months. (Long story - I posted it before) Stayed there for a month, and started to gain a little. Finally at 6 months, I decided I needed to get out of the house (away from the old bad habits). In a month I lost the last 11 LBS It was the realization I need to get back on track, and turn my life around (again). After loosing the 90 in 3 months, I was emaitiated. (At least I thought I was, bad blood chemistry, no strength, etc.etc) No magic. I just had to decide that when my new tummy said full, I had to stop eating !! Love & Thanks to all TommyB Re: BIG 100 > oh tommy!!!! i ENVY your broken plateau!! way to go!!! any > suggestions? you are doing fantastic!!!! > cathy s in va > ps > how much did you drop to break the plateau? > > > > DRUM ROLL PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > Finally off the plateau - Big Time !! > > 3/5/2000 420 DUKE, DFC > > 1/2/01 377 MGB - 43 DUKE DFC > > 8/8/01 276 POST MGB -144 TOTAL > > 8/8/01 -101 MGB > > > > TommyB > > > > > >
Guest guest
Cheryl. I had surgery 10/16/02 and havent lost any in 3 months. Its a bit depressing as I still want to lose at least another 35-40 lbs. Im still at 180 and its bothersome. But I keep hearing,,,, Hang in there, but ive been hanging for 3 mos!... Sigh. Hope time does work, because I stopped losing at 6 months out! 284/180 ========Original Message======== Subj: Plateau Date: 7/11/2003 2:10:15 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: <A HREF= " mailto:prtndrz@... Of course though when you are in one yourself it seems it will NEVER end. I have lost 2 pounds in the last 6 weeks. Any words of wisdom out there? Consolation? Encouragement? Something? Guest guest
It's about time for a plateau girl! Your body is resting and getting ready for the next 100. Be mindful of your diet and boost your exercise. Your brain will catch on and the MGB will kick into gear again.  Elinor R. Guest guest
I agree! Let your body catch up with itself. Keep eating. Eat right, though-- lots of protein and veggies, definitely SOME carbs. Drink your water. The weight loss will continue. :-) Kathy in VA 7-6-06 297/150 ________________________________ From: Flo Ballengee <flo@...> Sent: Thu, January 6, 2011 4:20:04 AM Subject: Re: plateau My advice is to relax. Guest guest
Flo is right...plateaus are normal.  I have had two since my revision in August. I started 191lbs hit a pleatau at 164lbs and hovered there for about a month (between 162-164). I started loosing again and got down to 158lbs and stayed there for about 3 weeks. I just started to loose again last week and am down to 156lbs.  Hang in there. You will start to loose again.  . Guest guest
Sounds like you have done a great job so far! I would increase your water intake, increase your excersize and stick with low fat protein like fish and chicken, stay away from sugar and any products that are white, like flour, bread, pasta, etc. Add whole fruits, not fruit juices. Eat more healthy prepared vegetables and stay away from starchy carbs like potatoes and corn. Think about it, what do farmers feed their livestock to fatten them up? Corn! Good luck!  H.  Dr. R. 7/15/2002     259/ 135/ 156.  ( I need to take my own advice, which I am. along with using these nutritional products at this website.) It has helped me shed some pounds lately. www.xyngular.com/dherder  From: lisbethrawl <lisbethrawl@...> Subject: plateau Date: Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 12:16 PM  i had mgb in july and have hit a plateau.....any advise for getting over the hump. i have lost 98 pounds since august and have about 100 more to go..... Guest guest
Make sure you're doing everything you're supposed to do (i.e. vitamins, supplements, etc.) & after that just wait, it will pass.
Guest guest
I had my surgery in 4 years ago and I still have not lost 100lbs; talk about a plateau. All together I have lost 70lbs but, I am grateful for that. The best advice I could give you is, be patient. Mine has been as you can see a very slow process but, I think it is better this way because I don't look bad and the weight loss seem more natural this way.I would like to perhaps lose another 10 -15 lbs but, everyone is begging me not too; I am told I look great just where I am. My biggest problem is firmming up; OMG I am so flabby. I look great in my clothes but, when they come off; everything heads in its own direction...lol. Hang in there, it is worth the ( " weight " ). Â From: lisbethrawl <lisbethrawl@...> Subject: plateau Date: Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 11:16 AM Â i have lost almost 100 pounds since my mgb in august....i have hit a plateau and wondered if anyone could offer insight on how long it will last and some help to speed the weight loss...
