Guest guest
Not every one uses a special diet. We don't because I tried when my son was younger but it didn't help with any of his issues. I know some people have seen dramatic changes - I was just talking to someone about it this weekend. I think it really helps with kids who are more "hyper" or stim so much it really stops them from completing tasks or such. I'm sure you will get responses from parents who will tell you how it has helped them - they can be more specific. But, I just wanted to share that not all families are on a gluten-free diet. He does not appear to have any food allergies and besides for being a picky eater (consistent with his age), he eats well and has no digestive issues. Is the special diet designed to help only those ASD kids with digestive problems or is there reason to believe (research) that shows the special diet can help all ASD kids? If it's the latter, where can I find such research? Thanks, Eileen How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates. Guest guest
We never did any diet either. Tried the cf/gf diet and it made her "worse", not better. So true, diet only helps about 60% of ASD kids, but we weren't one of them. ----- Original Message ----- From: Becky Sent: Sunday, October 22, 2006 9:38 PM Subject: RE: [sPAM] [ ] gluten free diet Not every one uses a special diet. Guest guest
Eileen - What prompted us to start the GFCF diet was the fact that Bobby stimmed more right after drinking milk and when he was sick (vomitting and not eating much), he was like a different child - more social, more alert. For us, we saw a difference within a week of starting the diet. Chris
