Guest guest
Congrats ! i find it almost impossible to imagine lil ole you being over 300lbs! Just goes to show you determination and compliance really work!!! Good for you! You are LOVELY and your hubby is so proud of you! ENJOY IT ALL and for those who say walk and eat carrots, HEY pull that carrot outta your butt and trade it in for a CLUE: WLS works for those of us that would NEVER have won the battle without it. It is not mutilation, it is FREEDOM! HUGS in Ark.

Guest guest
Congrats on your anniversary that you snuck in at the end! 170 pounds is fabulous and I'm sure you look and feel wonderful! Isn't life the best revenge??? in GA 10/04/00 281.5/185/135-ish All the " newbies " > With just starting a new job and recovering from like my gazillion plastic surgery and third hernia surgery I don't remember all your names but welcome to the wonderful world of WLS, (weight loss surgery!) No, this isn't medicine's answer to a license to eat at will but it is, at this point anyway, the most innovative " tool " modern medicine has came up with to allow those of us for what ever reason ended up morbidly obese. I personally had lost over 100 pounds either three or four times and over 50 many more times than that but COULD NOT keep it off. Was I a pig? NO! Did I overeat? YES on occasion but not nearly as much as any normal person does. But I also believe, as the good Dr. pointed out, that I had something chemically whacked in my system from years of abuse of yo yo dieting and probably genetics factored in there too. I also had hypothyroidism and polycystic ovaries, two MEDICAL reasons that made it harder to loose the weight and KEEP it off. Did I exercise, YES to the best of my ability that a 343 pound woman could. Now I have a tool, and although it can be fooled, and has been by some who have gone before me, and I am sure, some that will go after me, it is as I said, the most innovative tool available at this time. As far as mutilating my body, I mutilated my body so to speak BECAUSE of the weight FAR more from the multiple surgeries I have had FROM being overweight. Which include but are not limited to; gallbladder sugary, (yes it is a PROVEN fact that overweight women have a higher chance of developing gallstones,) arthrodesis, and multiple hernias. Not to mention a D & C for polycystic ovaries and a hysterectomy at age 26. So for now me and my little five port holes will shut up. > > in MN > TWO YEARS POST OP TODAY! > -170# > > >
