Just wanted to let you know about the Homework Help Centers offered at the Cuyahoga County Library branches. This is for everyone; all children who would like help with homework.

I have been taking my son there and we GET our homework done in only 1/2 the time it takes to do it at home!!!

It is a great place to get help for homework. I started out by staying with him and showing the tutor how to work with my son. After only 2 times I can leave him there in the center and look for things in the Library, or make a errand to a nearby store.

Not only is it good for homework help, it's a good place to try to get social interaction with other children. They offer games and stories too. My son practiced taking turns with another child playing his favorite game (after we finished the homework).

My son loves going and it is more fun than being at home. They have all kinds of activities, ex: puzzles, leap frog pads-(talking books), and learning games, computer games and good books to read all at age appropriate levels or developmental levels from Kindergarten to 6th grade.

This is all provided for us by a special grant for Education. (They have tutors who are from Case Western, or Cleve State, not sure exactly, but the tutors are majors in teaching or special ed undergraduates).

Take advantage of this while it's here if you can. Someone told me she wished she had this back when she needed it.

You only need to have a Cuyahoga County Public Library card and can go to any of the branches. If there isn't one in your area such as Valley View, you can attend the one in Garfield Heights, etc.
