Until about 3 monhts post op, I ate lots of soups and the like, with an occasional " adult food " . manda > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Manda, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I just got wind that our show was cancelled. Guest guest
Kids are fine. Chelsea has been adopted and now lives in Atlanta. We just lost another rescue this morning. Some monster in west virginia sprayed him with insecticides and he lost both of his eyes. He became very sick last Monday and died today of what is very similar to parvo in dogs. His little body was just too run down to handle the disease. Of course right now we're scrambling to try and figure out where he got the disease. We're trying to see if he was vaccinated before we got him, which could have triggered the disease. Anyway, today is a sad day, but all children are fine and are looking forward to seeing their Nana and Grandma next week. It means table food and rawhides and to chase the big black dog that growls at everyone. We're taking puppy lance, the smallest retarded one with us, and as he is extremely car sick, this should be a treat. Spirit is staying behind at his other mom's house. 4 dogs, 2 chubby humans in a pick-em-up truck... and they won't be riding in the back. I'm nuts, but at least I accept the fact. thanks for asking. manda > How is that little dog doing?? How are your " kids " ? Guest guest
Dear Manda, I am sure that finding a roomie will be no problem. There's a list being maintained for just that purpose. As the day gets closer, I am sure there will be multiple places available. I am visiting friends and staying with them at first, then rooming with Trude and her hubby for the Fri and Sat. I'd also be surprised if there wasn't someone coming who could ride with you. . .maybe not, but we are so many it seems. I wouldn't miss it, no matter what~ well except a real emergency or tragedy, but that's not gonna happen! Take care Manda, and I look forward to meeting you 9-29! As far as me not posting.........YOU are rite.......i dont post and that is a decision i make.......i dont have time to be on this list like sum of the other peeps .....and i do have common sense to know that the more u r here posting the more posts u will PROLLY be getting responses to.....that is not my beef......more power to them.........my beef was putting out there that there are SUM peeps on this list.....that do feel ignored when they post ......and bc they do.....they WONT post........HOWEVER.......UNDERSTAND ME..........I AM NOT ONE OF THEM!! I will post whether ignored or not.........bc i post to reply, vent, share, whatever........ I have posted and posted to this group.......not much recently bc i have separated from my husband within the last 3 weeks and im getting my kids and myself settled in our new home......and school has started back... Manda dont be sorry that you were honest with me bout my style of writing........i love honesty.......however also know that this style is ME :-).......take it or leave it {{comes from many years of chatroom usage..i can assure you when i was writing my thesis i did not write this way....only on the net}}and i learned long time ago.....2 thine ownself B true and that seldom will i please myself if i worry bout trying to please everyone else...bc it is an impossible task......... Guest guest
Manda, (LOL)I am so used to that question. NO one believes how heavy I am from looking at me. Oh well, if I don't look, I must NOT be it. hahaha 5'7 and large framed. I am built solid as a rock and I now have some muscles from swimming 50 laps a day. Muscle MUST weigh more than fat, cause I lose slowly but drop in size. Cheryl

Guest guest
Pat, I just hope there was something you could wear. I don't remember what was in there because I packed them as soon as I tried them on and they didn't fit Heck, I don't even remember what I had. I found a shirt that I'd bought on vacation a couple of weeks ago that had been washed and dried and left in the bottom of a laudry basket. Being jobless for a couple of weeks has its advantages. My house may actually get organized before I go back to work. Doggies love having me home also! manda > Manda, I just want to say thank you. Guest guest
Carla, I rememeber you well, we chatted at the clothing table and then in the bathroom. Don't worry, I didn't take your letter personally at all. From what I've heard Munckins DO have problems, as most pure breeds do. All of mine are rescues. I have 4 pure bred cats, all have problems. My " mutt cats " don't generally. One of my curls is bred so badly that his ear canals collapsed and he can't hear anything. He has to be taken to the vet and knocked out in order to remove wax buildup from his ears because it can't get out. He is the only Curl I've ever heard of with this problem. ish folds are really the breeds to stay away from, they have horrible skeletal problems from what I hear. TNR(Trap neuter release) is my life. Currently we have 1 momma that had 5 babies. When the babies are weaned, she'll go live on a pig sanctuary. The other momma is about to pop. The department of transportation found 5 newborn babies in a ditch this morning and we took 2 of them to see if nursing mommy would accept them, and she did. So, we're overrun right now. I had to tell my rescue partner that we couldn't handle any more. We have a wonderful vet that gives us GREAT discounts, and this is rare with most vets, but we have houses full of cats that we haven't placed yet. It never ends. I'm getting a new dog tomorrow that had been locked in a barn stall when his owner moved 2 months ago and not fed or watered since. We figure he survived on rats and rain watter. He is litterally skin and bones, unfortunately, his friend didn't survive. I came home this afternoon and one of my babies was limping, so off to the vet we go. Very bad sprain, no idea how it happens, probably a dog scuffle. When you have 5 dogs they adopt a pack mentality and sometimes can be really rough with one another. I stay busy I wanted to take a quilting class this fall, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to make the time for it. manda > Hi Manda, > Thanks for the well wishes for Stormee. Guest guest
Manda, I understand your concerns completely, about eating too much. I pretty much can eat a normal amount now and that is very frightening. BUT, I do remember that I could put away some serious food pre-op, which, I NO longer can do. I eat a normal amount. I have decided that it is up to me to watch my weight very closely and to cut way back if I see myself gaining. That is what " normal " sized people do who are weight conscious. I am also focusing not only on portions but on content. Yes, I treat myself but then I eat lightly to compensate for the " treat " . Again, this is what " normal " sized people do. I have to do my part. I have to retrain my brain and stomach. The surgery gave me a huge advantage, I have to make it continue to work for me. He represents everything I can't stand in a man. When chided for wearing fur, he went out and bought everyone he knew a fur coat. I personally am anti-fur, but something about him. His music is filled with potty words, so I guess it's just the bad boy in him, and perhaps the fact that I ain't getting none! manda
