Guest guest
I'm not sure how to say this, don't want to sound like I am name dropping. Carni is a cousin of mine. I use to be married to her Dad's 1st cousin back in the 60's/70's. He was also the manager of the Beach Boys. Anyway, I haven't seen Carni since she was about 6 yrs old. She was doing a concert near me with Al Jardine (Beach Boy) this past Thursday nite. We went to see it and I spent about an hour with her and her sister afterwards. It was really wonderful to hear all about the family (her mom Marilyn and I use to be very close). I had moved around so much after my divorce I eventually lost touch with everyone. Carni's husband Rob was there and is a warm, sweet guy. They are obviously very much in love. Carni is the same as when she was a little girl. Warm, sweet and very down to earth. What a personality!! We spoke at length about WLS. She is very active in the WLS community. She was " presented " at the Bariatric Convention last month in D.C. to a standing ovation. I don't think it had much to do with her loosing so much weight as for what it did for the Bariatric community. She has made WLS so much more accepted. I gave her a big hug and thanked her for that. However, when she asked me where/when I had the surgery and I told her I had the MGB she went balistic. She scared my dear husband! We talked for awhile about it and she calmed down. She was obviously not happy. I plan to keep in touch with her to let her know how well I am doing over the years. I hope to change her mind. I asked her if she ever read CLOS and she had not. This is how thing get blown out of proportion I said. I asked her to read it. My husband (Carl) took a few fotos of us and when I get them developed I will send one to Tricia to post, since I don't have a scanner I need your snail mail address Tricia. Hope to see you all at the picnic. Joni
