Guest guest
hi y'all.... I always read about everyone elses updates but have never really updated everyone on myself....so here it goes. i just passed my 11th month. I have had an endoscopy and gall bladder removal. seem to be doing great now. Some days I am very tired, or days I have the stamina of a 30 year old! I have gone from 225 to 128 fully dressed! I'm into a size 6 and sometimes those are a little big!!!LOL My hair loss stopped mostly. I lose alot during blow drying, but no thinness like before and no hands full of hair....thank goodness! My nails grow and my skin is supple and looking healthy. The thing that I eat the most is shrimp. After I have gotten my gall bladder out, I have been able to eat lettuce and some other things. I still don't eat bread, noodles, potatoes, ice cream, or very much red meat, cheese or dairy. Those things don't sit very well for me. I am very fortunate that my " Bathroom " habits never changed after the surgery. They are the same as before. I drink Gatorade and water, although not very much water. I eat protein bars the kind that are from Sams that have 2 grams of carbs in them..they aren't wonderful but I know that they are good for me. Now when I go out I get the comments from the waitresses that I need to eat or I will never weigh more than a couple of ounces! Funny huh, first they look at us like we are tubs of lard and then they are at the opposite end of the scale with the comments. Actually I just laugh inside and think, if you only knew! I seem to be " stuck " as far as my weigh loss goes. I've been here for over 6 weeks. Some people think that I'm " sick " but face it, when you see someone who has lost so much weight, what else can you think. It has been a hard year, but I am looking forward to the months ahead. I will return back to the gastroenterologist tomorrow to discuss reflux. It is occasional, but I know that he wants me to stay on Prevacid, etc. I presently only take it when needed and no carafate. I do prop my self up on pillows some nights. hope this helps some of you newer post ops. thanks dee
