Dr. R and very happy and positive....

Seeing that you know who is back at the keyboards pounding out her hatemail,

I'm guessing she is frustrated and can't think of anything affective to do.

BTW, Steve, have you HEARD how wonderful the MGB is? HAHA

patients that are sick and have repeated surgeries from that surgery. There

hopefully the other is easier and more pleasant to live with.

I wish she wasn't RAH RAH RNY like everything else she gets behind at least

until she is out a few years, egg on the face is hard to get off.

Almost every RNY patient I know is dieting or gaining weight back, some have

been in and out of the hospital for problems.

We all know the problems I have AND I would do all again!

My problems can be fixed! And yes the advatages, both health and physical

can be helped with any WLS I just do not choose the problems that come along

with the other surgeries. I might have to have a revision to a RNY but that

would be that last resort, not my first choice. I am not STUPID I have

researched every surgery and I would still choose the MGB over the RNY. I

think some modifications can be made to make it better. But that is life we

can always make things better. Anyway thanks for listening to my rambling.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

it, but that is so sick, it is hard to believe.

You were too stupid to look at the simple pictures of what was done inside

you and had the MGB surgery done anyway, even with people warning you.

And all along, you have been encouraging people to do this to themselves

when at this point, you'd have to be totally blind and completely stupid not

to have seen all the reports from women whose insides have been destroyed,

people who had no symptoms but got an EGD and found out the truth, not to

mention the DOZENS of medical reports of the proven damage it causes.

You would have to be a sick, disgusting monster to urge people to do this

and

not warn them of this, but your own sister?

God help you, you sick woman.

In our life time we will meet many people who will not understand that others

have their own intelligent and informed opinions.

That others have the right to choose what is best for them.

Some people have tunnel vision, They insist on their view only! They are

saving the world and only their views and opinions are the ones everyone else

should have.

It is sad that in the process of gratifying their own need to do this they

are nasty and thoughtless and can say anything about anyone be it true or

not. We do not live in a fair world, however we all have it in our hearts to

be kind if we choose even if we have deference's. I guess some people prefer

to ignore that sweet spirit we were born with. It bothers me when people

quote scripture in one sentence and then step on you in the next.

I am not perfect I have made many mistakes in my life, and so have some of

the of the people in my life. But I do not wish harm to them be it physical

or mental. I pray we all endure this and go on to lives that are filled with

joy and not worry about our appearances.

Please lets not turn into mean and nasty people defending ourselves. Let's

just let is go and move on to what WE want for ourselves and loved ones.

Last Sunday in Church one of the lady's gave a talk about that God is the

Author of out life but we are the editor. I am sure he never intended in our

process of righting what we feel is a wrong, to hurt and belittle and

mentally wound each other. I don't see the value in that at all. If we have

such STRONG beliefs in our opinions is it really not necessary to flex our

muscles use mental force on others? What is the gain from that? Please

someone share this me. Someone explain to me that how calling someone Stupid

or fat or what ever can gain them to like you or join in your cause or even

want to understand it? I have asked a friend of mine that is a therapist

this question, his answer was personally, it is sad and makes no sense, from

his professional point of view it is control and manipulation issues. I am

now going to let this go and share with you that

Was sending e-mail to let everyone know that Watts had a revision,

she got a leak from it and was very sick. Dr. was her Dr. She is now

home and still in pain. She is a single Mom and has no money in the bank.

is trying to raise money to help out while she is home

recovering for a month or so.

I think this was a very nice and thoughtful of her

.. I talked to last night she wanted me to tell everyone Hi and she

will not be answering e-mails until she is back at work.

friction over a good deed so I will ask permission first.

you are correct, if she were " happy " and hurting folks, she would not be

posting soooooo much.

She only emailed me once and I emailed her back stating that it was my

" official " warning to her not to email me ever gain. she immediately did

email me back and tried to get me into a pissing contest with her, I ignored

her and she went away.

She needs the responses from us as fuel for her fire, if we ignore her, it

will frustrate her and she will go somewhere that she will get attention,

trust me, try this and she will ignore you also.

Lost some weight this week, only the weight I had gained, but another lb for

a total of 92 lbs lost, my one year is on the 21, I wish I could loose

another 8 lbs to make it an even 100, but if not, I am not going to stress

it.

Very well said Trish. I just talked on the phone the other day with someone

who is scheduled for a lap RNY in August. I told her that my surgery was

different - doesn't make it better or worse. There are downsides to every

surgery. I strongly encouraged her to get on a groups list that deals

with RNYs and talk to people like we did and still do. Knowledge is power

after all!

She's quit emailing me also, or I haven't heard from her in a while.

For a while there, I couldn't get her to stop, but each and every

email, I simply reply to it and let her know that it has been

reported to her internet service provider, but I remain convinced

that does no good.

I agree. I had a friend that almost died from a VBG, and she's

gained about 40% of her weight back in 10 years. Also, let's not

forget Cat, the partner of an MGB'er that has bile. My Layne

lady's mom had an RNY and has gained all of her weight back and then

some. There is no perfect surgery.

For the love of Heaven.........

well, seems to me (IMHO) she is neither sane nor normal......

but, someone elses sanity is none of my business.... neither is what

you do or do not tell your sister.... you do as you please and

forget people who know NOTHING of your, i repeat, YOUR experience.

My MGB experience has been wonderful and complication-free thus far i

am profoundly sorry for those having trouble. although there are

more with complications than i would have guessed, I do feel lucky

not to be among those having problems.

your family is just that FAMILY.... forget outsiders who know ZILCH

about you OR your sister.

This is so sad! I saw 's new pictures and I thought.....

aaahhh she looks happy and perhaps her life is full of joy now

and that is why MGBers have not heard from her lately.

Then Marg and others get these painfully venomous letters and I

begin to think that maybe the newness/giddyness of her surgery

conversion has worn off and she is now back living with all the

personal struggles and mental struggles that made her

....well..... (insert your own opinion of who/what you feel

is)

Wow....read her email again....look at her tone and what it says

about her as a human being. For me it says that I am damn glad

I am not living in her head. What an ugly world she must be

seeing and feeling. Truly a shame.

I used to think it would be interesting to develop a database of all

her letters mailed out to MGBers. To have a collection of her

" truth " and information. To be able to read her in chronological

order and watch for the shifts in mood and position. To be able

to combine her writings in different groupings so that trends and

patterns can be observed. I used to think she would be a

fascinating study! However, now she is, to me, just someone I

pity because of what I see as her lack of joyfulness and serenity.

I feel very sorry for her and the people who have been caught up

in her world.

Beth,

You're right - her moods, etc. would be quite interesting but I am going to

spend no more time caring about what she thinks or says.

As for encouraging other people to have the MGB - it is not in any way based

on anything about what is currently going on with Dr. R but I try to state

my facts as just that facts. I tell people about my experience and

encourage them to do their own research. I will give them Dr. R's web site

information, etc. but will not sway them one way or the other. I don't want

that kind of responsibility. If they ask me if I have had a good experience

then of course the answer is yes - but I also tell them there are people

with complications. I want everyone to make up their own mind because it is

a decision they alone have to live with.

Beth,

When I was researching the MGB, I really gave a lot of thought to

what she was saying on her webpage. I had no idea.... ya know, so I

asked several times for the archives to be opened on the old list,

and I did a search for her name, and I was able to decide for myself

through her posts(i saved a lot of them) over just a few week period

that she wasn't someone that I was going to take seriously concerning

the problems with the MGB. I am however happy that there is more

evidence that things can go wrong with the MGB, just like in every

other surgery. Wait, I forgot, the MGB is the only surgery that

causes anything bad to happen. Other people have been able to

intellegently communicate their problems without being blasted by us

folks on the lists. I for one pay close attention to these emails,

and am making mental notes.

She made her decision, and we've all made ours. Period.

heck, I almost died after a very routine hysterectomy, I then got a staph

infection and they were giving me an antibiotic that I was allergic to, my

liver began to shut down and only because I was in horrible kidney pain from

the billiruben making the kidney spasm, did I go to the emergency room, or I

might be dead today.

I have already posted this, also my son at 5 years old almost died when

after a routine tonsillectomy, his artery burst in the middle of the night

and he hemorrhaged and was sleeping and swallowing the blood without my

knowing it. Point being is that any and all surgery can kill you, heck a

damned bee sting can kill someone!!!
