Guest guest
- Congrats on your surgery! For me the best way to take the citrucell is to mix it in a disposable dixie cup with a couple of ounces of room temp water. Drink it down and throw away the cup. It tastes like a thick Tang. If you use cold water it will " gel " up on you. I don't think there's any way to " enjoy " it, so I just drink it down and go on. It's not bad that way. It's important for coating your stomach and for regulating your bowels. It helps both ways to stop diahrrea and constipation. good luck! Guest guest
, I found the new fiber supplement at Walmart today and have already tried a dose. So far, no problems. It's called Benefiber by the makers of ex-lax. It is sugar free and can be mixed in hot or cold liquids or solids. No grit, No taste, No thick/slimy feel to it. I mixed it in my Gatorade tonight. I had ice in it. It didn't mix very well at first...a few clumps but it sat for about 2 minutes and was completely dissolved. No taste or slime. It was marvelous. It has a pour spout and a dipper spout that you level off. Also has a nice indentation for gripping. My Walmart had a center isle display and also where the other supplements were. They even have individual packets for carrying. I haven't felt bloaty with this one yet. Will let you know if I have any problems. in SC 2/22/02 Dr. R. Guest guest
Judith, and and others - Thanks for your tips on taking Citrucell. I'll try them. I took it tonight with lukewarm water so it wasn't thick which I hate! , I'm going to check out the Benefiber at Walmart - are you sure it's the " same " for us as Citrucell? in Seattle
Guest guest
As best as I can tell (I'm a nurse) it's equivalent and there is no taste or slime. I was not as gassy as I usually am at night. I'll be taking it again this evening.
Guest guest
Citrucel was recalled because it was been found to have miniature pieces of metal in it. It was recalled about two and a half weeks ago. I know notices were sent to physician's offices in ver official letters, but I have not heard anything about it on the news. The clear, smoothy formula is OK but the sugar free as well as sweetened orange versions were recalled. They are not on the shelves here in Alaska either. Margaret G.
