Guest guest
Carnie I believe had her surgery at Alvarado and their physician/founder is VERY opposed to the MGB - he is one of the biggest opponents I believe (probably eating into his cash cow!). I am sure she has been told lots of things against the MGB but has little firsthand knowledge. Just my 2 cents! in GA Carni ...long > > > > I'm not sure how to say this, don't want to sound like I am name dropping. > > Carni is a cousin of mine. Guest guest
I have a sister who is seeing my success with mgb now considering a WLS. She called me the other day. (we live a distance apart so we have not discussed my surgery in a lot of detail) to ask me questions. When I told her who did my surgery. She went nuts she had just been on LT's web site. I tried to explain some of the history, but she said after reading that there was no way she would let Dr R do her surgery and she is really questioning my judgement. I told her I made my choice and you need to make yours. I get tired of the bashing of mgb. I told her I do have times that I worry about long term effects like bile reflux, losing too much weight, ect. But I would do this again in a minute with the same surgeon. I do wish he would let us know when he is going to start up again. So many people have ask me for his name and information. It looks bad when he is not practing now and I have nothing to tell them. Has anyone heard anything recently from him. Guest guest
If I am not mistaken she had a lap RNY. As for success in a short time----my weight loss has slowed too but I am still losing. My 9 month anniversary was the 4th of July. Don't know my " official " loss until I weigh in on Wednesday but am down a little over 90 pounds which is great but of course I always want more. Also, my husband gets quite frustrated with me over body image. I just got back our vacation pictures and I think the ones of me are horrible (the deflated balloon image comes to mind as well as me thinking I am smaller than I apparently am) - he thinks they are wonderful and that I should be thrilled. Oh well - maybe some day I will like what I see in the mirror! Have a great day everyone! in GA Carni ...long > > > > > > > > > > I'm not sure how to say this, don't want to sound like I am name > > dropping. > > > > Carni is a cousin of mine.
