I have loved Dr. Green at Rainbow. She has been MORE than amazing w/ my daughter.

dr. demio is really an incredible person and dr.!! so compassionate and great with the children he sees. he understands on many levels...as a father of a child on the spectrum and as a dr. who understands the complexities of the biology as well. our son noah felt so comfortable w/him which is highly unusual.

Thanks but our insurance doesn't cover University Hospitals,of which Rainbow and Babies is a part...but thank you so very much...I've also heard good things about Dr. Green. Take care and have a good day!

Margie, If you have concerns re. metabolic/mitochondrial issues with your son as well, Dr. Marvin Natowicz, MD, PhD., is known to be best in the field worldwide. He is with the Cleveland Clinic. Re. EEGs I am sure he would be able to help you as well, but that is not what he is known for... Anyways, my son did not have an EEG done yet, so unfortunately I can not point you to anybody in particular. Good luck and keep us posted! Hi, Margie --

I've heard a lot of wonderful things about Dr. DeMio, but if insurance is a major consideration, please keep in mind that Dr. DeMio is not a preferred provider for any insurance company (that's per his office). We were told that we would have to check with our insurance company and see if any part of the visit would be covered. Well, it wouldn't be for us -- your insurance company may be different though, so check with them first. Also, Dr. DeMio's office told us they need payment up front and you can try to get reimbursement from your insurance company if your policy allows (and, as I said, our policy doesn't allow that). Just so you know, it's $470 to walk in the door. That doesn't include any testing. I'm not trying to discourage you from seeing Dr. DeMio, because, as I said, I've heard only good things about him, but he was cost-prohibitive for us.

One of our sons had to have a sleep-deprived EEG, and we got the order from our child psychiatrist. She told us that if it came back abnormal, she'd refer us to a neurologist, and she used to work at the Cleveland Clinic, so she knows a lot of docs from there. If your child has a child psych, he or she might be able to order the test and then send your child to a neurologist if need be.
