I would like to see a section to give to my PCP with very clear directions

for follow up care, how to reach DR R, how often to see your PCP, when and

what blood work, endoscopy ect.

Post Op Manual

Hi All,

Have I received everyone's input on what you want in the PostOp Manual? If

so, I will start putting your suggestions together and posting them to the

list here for adds and deletions, changes or whatever as the next step.

For those of you who may not know. I am in the process of gathering

suggestions on a new PostOp Manual. Dr. R has given is ok and he will also

be helping with putting together the medical side of the information. I am

asking everyone to give their ideas on what they want to see in the manual

at this time.

Hi,

I too think it should be more clear on our follow up with our own

doctors. I know when I first went to mine. He asked me what do I need to

check. I said I know we have to check blood and see if we lack vitamins.

Once he said there is nothing to check for vitamins.

\

We need to know --- what are the blood tests and what else he checks

for-- on a regular basis. At the begining, I went every month, and then

every two months, I know after a year there is a whole list of blood work we

need checked, but before in the begining we need things more clear--

We need to know how much fluids we need to take daily-- not just sip all

day long. What amount do we need -- and after we stay on liquids for two

months or more, it is very hard to start to eat, for a long time I could

only takes a few bites, and not anything more for the longest time. You

should have it written, it is normal, that most of us feel like we do not

want to eat or can not eat more than a bite at first, but that we should try

every couple of hours to take something. Not to drink when we eat, until an

hour after, and half hour before. That is very important, didn't really

know that for a while .

Post Op Manual

Ok, all.. I'm going to start compiling the info for the manual based on your

suggestions. Can you all access the website ok? I was wondring if I could

use that as a way of giving everyone access to the information without using

this list. We get so mu

ch email as it is and really this is separate. What do you all think? Do

you want to hash it out on this list or would you prefer the info be

accessed thru the website instead?

a, sounds marvelous. I'm a nurse and I had to dig in my brain to figure

out things to eat. I even forgot about popsicles. I could eat my weight in

them now. I'll email you any that I can think of. Be glad to help out

anyway that I can. VAlerie Dunlap

Ok I think it might be good to put down all three stages. Liquids to semi

solids to solids and also some of your ideas about what you could eat before and

can't eat now and visa versa. How's that sound?

a,

I have been out of the loop for a month and a half. What response are you

looking for? Personally, I am very interested in the post-op patient

manual.
