Guest guest Posted October 9, 2004 Report Share Posted October 9, 2004 Hi Re the implant incisions...my surgeon prefers the larger incision as his experience indicates it heals better. I have a large reverse C incision which bottoms out just above my ear. It's healing quickly and has not given me any trouble at all. I've not had any pain or even needed any pain meds. I've also not experienced any dizziness or nausea at all. In addition, all 24 electrodes were inserted through three rings, which is really set deep in the center of the cochlear and will give me more hearing in the lower frequencies. I was implanted by Dr. Steenerson at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. So, talk to your surgeon and you will be more comfortable with the surgeon's decisions when you do have your implant surgery. --Gayle > > Thanks, Sam, for showing them.
