Guest guest
Today is officially my 3 month anniversary so here's my update. I've lost 47 lbs so far and almost 28 inches. I've been doing well food wise although sometimes I feel like I'm " floundering " - I don't know how much is too much, how much is not enough, etc. I'm considering getting a referral to a dietician the next time I see my PCP - I think I just need some direction. I'm not very happy with my weight loss this past month - only 6 lbs. I'm trying to convince myself that it's better than gaining 6 lbs in a month but I'm having a hard time. I expected and hoped for more. Oh well - I guess I'm just a " slow loser " . I discovered today that a new " Curves for Women " is opening on July 23rd about a mile from my work place so I think I'll join. (I already belong to a gym but mostly do aqua aerobics which don't seem to be helping me much). At this point I am still happy that I had the MGB. I have had very few problems since surgery and I enjoy being able to be in control of what I eat. I do seem to have a rather large capacity for some foods (watermelon especially) which sometimes concerns me - hopefully I can eat so much of it just because it's mostly water! I'll be taking my first plane trip since surgery in 2 weeks - I'm hoping I'll be able to return that seatbelt extender I " borrowed " about 10 years ago - we'll see.... One thing that is kind of interesting here in my house is that the more I lose the more my husband gains - I'm within 30 lbs of him now and can't wait for the day that I way less than he does!!! That's my goal for now - hopefully it won't take me 6 more months to get there.....but if it does - there's not a whole lot I can do about it I guess. I don't post much but I read them all - thank you to everyone for being so willing to share your stories - they really do make a difference in the lives of the rest of us out here in lurker land.
