Information, not recommendations.....You can call Houstons (link below) and get samples of their chewables before investing $$'s in something your child will not take.

We used enzymes as an aid to the diets not to neccessarily add glutens or caseins in the diet but to help digest complex carbs that are in the GFCF diet. We eliminated or reduced heavy hitter carbs from the GFCF diet and eliminated or reduced the Phenol/Salicylate, histamine and histamine causing foods on the SCD diet as showed high histamine levels in testing and had definate phenol issues.

One of the most successful methods is by starting off low-n-slow with a low protease product first. Lacto by Enzymedica is effective on foods but doesn't contain the common fillers or papain/bromelain than can cause problems. This product is in most natural food stores or you can get online. A good price is at:http://www.stayleaner.com/enzymedica.htmlStart a 1/2 capsules per meal for a few days and then increase to a full capsule per meal. At the end of one week, you can add in a strong protease. A good one is AFP Peptizyde which you can get at www.houstonni.com:Get the AFP, not the regular which has papain in it. If you know papain isn't a problem the regular can work great. But in the beginning, getting the AFP takes away one hurdle and potential source of problems.Start the protease (AFP) slowly in the same way as you did the Lacto. Wen you get to 1 capsule of each you can continue with the Lacto or go up to a broad-spectrum product with more proteases. Digest Gold (Enzymedica) is sold in stores, or Klaire Lab makes a really nice one called VITAL-ZYMEST Forte. Klaire also makes one called VITAL-ZYMEST COMPLETE which sounds even better because it is like Vital-zymes Forte + Peptizyde combined...plus has a few other things in it as well. There are other combinations which you may find too, but this is sort of a 'best bet' version. You are probably noticing that I am picking out select products from different lines. Enzymes, fortunately, are mix-n-match so you can get good products from various sources and take together. Each enzyme vendor will generally always tell you to buy everything from them, but you can certainly shop around and find good combinations.And you may find a product not in general circulation. For example, Glutenzyme is sold in England and appears to work well like Peptizyde (I've heard from several people now who have been using Glutenzyme successfully instead of a gluten-free diet).Anyway...start with one product (suggested is Lacto for a gentle beginning) and then look into other products as you go.
