Guest guest
There has been lots of discussion about plateaus and how to break them. This has worked for me, after 3 weeks stuck at the same weight, even though I exercise 5-6 days per week for 40 minutes. We had a large collection of left over vegetables that accumulated from a community supported agriculture membership. I cut potatoes, carrots, squash, beets, tomatoes, onions, leeks into a large casserole dish. I added a can of mushroom soup and Worcestershire sauce. Also added microwave cooked low fat ground meat we had on hand (I used ostrich and deer, but any lean meat should work) plus some left over chicken strips. Then baked it for several hours. Since we had so much of it, I have been eating it for two meals a day for four days. Each time I eat a bowl of it, I add different seasonings to make for some variety. Within 2 days, I could tell from my body that I was back in weight loss mode. I still nibble on a few other things but I have now lost 2 pounds. Guest guest
i guess i dont understand why when people have a question or problem they dont consult Dr As office?!? I know there are alot of medical experts here--afterall they have had ONE surgery--how many has Dr A and his staff done? CALL NINAFrom: brittanybrooks51 <brittanybrooks51@...>Subject: weight loss plateau Date: Thursday, August 12, 2010, 8:08 PM Hi everyone Im kinda scared to write this email because a few people that have wrote on this board have been critized a lot for what they were doing but here we go. I got my lap band on 1/22/10 and since then I have only lost 40 lbs. I have to admitt it is my fault because I wanted the band to do the work for me but have noticed that the band works...but not that great if your not helping it. Saying that I have started walking 2 miles in the morning and 2 miles at night and that has been for 2 weeks straight now and im still not seeing any movement on the scale im getting pretty worried because my wedding is in April and I would like to lose another 40-60 lbs before then. I am currently at a 2.6ish in my band and im afraid to get another fill because I have had some trouble getting any kind of meat down so for breakfast I usually have a Carnation instant breakfast which doesent have a lot of protein in it but its good and fast (im currently a full time student and a mother) for lunch I usually eat a bowl of soup or chili with little meat in it ( the label says 200 calories) and for dinner I will try to eat a salad with whatever I make for dinner. I just got a hold of taking the smallest bites of my food so eating chicken has gotten better but not like before. Im pretty desperate right now so any suggestions would be appreciated
Guest guest
Band or Sleeve, it wouldn't matter. You are on a plateau, it just happens, really it does. Your body needs to catch up and you need to give it time to do that 40lbs is amazing!!! Exercising everyday, AWESOME!!!! I would try to find a protein drink that works for you, it takes me about 30 seconds to mix up my protein shake, about the same as a carnation drink, I'm guessing, and I get 30 g of protein instantly!! You will see a difference in your hunger levels. Try it. So you are getting about 600 calories a day in? If the shake were 200 cal, lunch is 200 cal, a salad at dinner wouldn't be much more than 200 cal, does that sound right, or are you taking in more calories somewhere? It's a good idea to write down everything you are eating or use www.dailyplate.com to make sure there aren't more calories getting in there. Keep working at it, it will come off.CyrenaDoBand: 1/19/07240/133/150start/now/goalFrom: brittanybrooks51 <brittanybrooks51@...> Sent: Thu, August 12, 2010 8:08:50 PMSubject: weight loss plateau Hi everyone Im kinda scared to write this email because a few people that have wrote on this board have been critized a lot for what they were doing but here we go. Guest guest
then I guess I don't understand why your on this board Ron! People come here to get different opinions on specific situations that others might have gone through if you don't understand it or don't like the fact that people post questions on here then I suggest you find a different board! Your negativity will bring people down and make them turn away from a place where we should feel safe and comfortable talking about their concernsSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: Ron Waggoner <rewag2006@...>Sender: Date: Fri, 13 Aug 2010 00:05:52 -0700 (PDT)< >Reply Subject: Re: weight loss plateau i guess i dont understand why when people have a question or problem they dont consult Dr As office?!? Guest guest
I belong Melaleuca and order from there, it is the Vanilla Attain Shakes. They taste amazing to me. In 3 years I have tried MANY MANY different shakes. You have to keep trying different types until you get the one that works for you. Make sure you purchase one that is for weight loss and NOT building muscle. There is a difference! I mix a scoop of Attain, a packet of Chai Tea powder, and milk. It tastes amazing!! Like I said, keep trying until you find one.Keep us posted how it is going. Don't give up, I was on a plateau for nearly 6 weeks, it is miserable. Guest guest
Ron, that is what we women do. HA HA HA I can remember a conversation I had last week, heck that was probably a month a go now that I think about it, still over-analyzing that one.
