Guest guest
Is it my imagination or is attendance going to way down this year at the picnic? It doesn't seem like people are as excited about the picnic as in past couple years!! Like I said could be my imagination going wild!!LOL I would have thought it would be a good turn out since some wanted to change the time from Fall to Early Summer. I guess there is never a time convenant for everyone. See ya there!! Marie
Guest guest
Maybe attendance is down because it's so early this year. Some of us are still in snow Regards, TommyB MGB Picnic > Is it my imagination or is attendance going to way down this year at > the picnic? Guest guest
IT IS COLD in Statesville in early June. My family is originally from near Cherokee N.C. I have spent many vacations near the area and the nights can be around 40. I personally would be camping in a popup. I have kids in school till mid June. I may come but it also is further from my home here in Norfolk, Va. So I am not sure if I can make this or not. I missed last year due to a nasty gallbladder mishap. I went to the Christmas ball, I hope to make this one. I will decide soon. I missed the posts, we were off the list due to new email addy. Nice to be back, Overman joeykris4@aol Dr.R 2/5/01 245/ 127 22/24 size
Guest guest
I have noticed it is kind of low key this year, too. I have only had a couple of responses to the hotel information. I was hoping it was just because it is still early. Some people can't get too excited until it is upon them. LOL. Personally, I can't wait! Tommy- are you coming this year???? Guest guest
I'll be there! I am looking forward to mseeing folks whom I haven't seen in a very long time. I hope we do the clothing swap again, I have some stuff, lots this year. I think it is low key right now because it's so far away. it will be great to have new folks coming also. Do the other surgeons patients coming also? Do they know about it? Re: MGB Picnic I have noticed it is kind of low key this year, too. I have only had a couple of responses to the hotel information. Guest guest
Hi Gang Did I miss something ? When was the picnic last year ? (I was in-out-in the hospital with MGB complications from mid Feb to mid May). Needless to say, I never looked at any email during that time. I know there was a picnic in the fall, and unfortunately I had to miss it due to work related committments, but Spring ????? I must have slept through it. Warmest Regards, TommyB MGB Picnic > > > > > > > Is it my imagination or is attendance going to way down this year > at > > > the picnic? Guest guest
Margaret, This is Rosemary Commisso, I made all my arrangements the airplane tickets, and I called the Hawthrown and got a 2 bedroom suite ( the lady wasn't there she left for the evening> But he said I am all set. I do not know if we still have to tell you, do you get everyone together on one floor or how do they work it. I told the man that answered the phone, this is with Dr. Rutledge's people. He knew what I was talking about. I hope everything is ok. He gave me a confirmation number. So I figured that's all I have to do. RIGHT??????????????Let me know. Rosemary (Maybe we can be close to each other)

Guest guest
, I'm a nurse and just to let you know, there are derivitives of penicillin out there. Anything that ends in cillin stay away from. Keflex is also a form of it. I'm allergic to penicillin but can take Keflex. Be careful and always tell anyone that is prescribing for you that you are allergic to penicillin. Your pharmacy should also have that in their records. Kmart has an alert on my meds for no penicillin or tylenol products post MGB They also have a warning for possible liver toxicity alert too. Take care and stay safe and informed! in SC (RNC)
Guest guest
Tommy, I did get your message yesterday, but my server was down until this morning (again!) Thank you so much for sharing this with me. How could your PCP adjust your coumadin when you were under Dr R's care and we're suposed to go to our PCP for a one month follow up visit, not immediately after surgery. How can he say you should have known? Did you go to med school? Wow buddy, you've been through hell and back. Thank God you're doing well now. You make my problems seem so minor. Do they say why your connection kept closing? I know all our bodies heal differently, but why so many times, and what was the yutz doing that he burst it. I am sure you asked these questions over and over again. I know there are risks associated with all surgeries. Well, no ulcers? Trying to look for something positive out of all this. Sometimes I think the Dr's are too lax. I have been having some very painful stomach attacks. My PCP tells me it is GERDS and put me back on Prevacid. Still had more attacks so I pressed the issue with him. He jumped down my throat last monday and told me this is not his problem, it is Dr R's. Then he scheduled an endoscopy for May 9th. I am going to see Dr R for my one year follow-up on April 19th, so I called his office since it is " his " problem and asked it they would be able to schedule a scope while I was there. His nurse Dana called me back and said Dr R says I don't need a scope, I have H. Pylori. (I don't recall discussing my particular symptoms other than saying I've had stomach pains.) She called me in a RX for the Prev pac. I took my first dose and 1/2 hr later I was in the emergency room. I am alergic to penecellin, and the pac had amoxicillin (never knew that was pene.) Sorry to dump by problems on you, you've had more than your share!! I wish you nothing but health!!!!
Guest guest
, Thanks for the info!! I truly thought my pharmacy (Kmart) had my drug allergies on file, but they did not at that time. They do now!! They did however provide me with a pamphlet with the warning in it, but I did not read it until my throat was swelling closed. I will never do that again!! Live and learn, Re: Re: MGB Picnic > , I'm a nurse and just to let you know, there are derivitives of > penicillin out there. Anything that ends in cillin stay away from. Guest guest
************************ANNUAL********* We have had to change the picnic date from May 5th to April 28th due to the Race for the Cure; we do not want to interfere with that very important cause. We are looking for suggestions and volunteers for the picnic to make it a good time for all. The picnic will be held at Beautiful Discovery Park in NV (Las Vegas) 2011 Paseo Verde Pkwy. , NV, 89012 Saturday April 28th 11:00 to 4:00 pm. There will be a support group meeting Friday April 27th (time and place to follow) The park sports volleyball, tennis, handball, basketball, baseball diamonds, horse shoes, swing, slides, rock wall, it is beautiful. We need some suggestions on the food: CLOS can barbeque hamburgers & hotdogs, have some cold salads and everyone can bring their favorite desert or dish??? We do need some volunteers to help with a few things if you are interested please e-mail me at _trish@..._ (mailto:trish@...) and type mgb picnic in the subject line. Thank you, Trish Lanman 702-376-3446 ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME THIS PICNIC IS YOUR PICNIC!!!

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone.
