Guest guest
, It is prescription. And I honestly don't remember what the original cost of it was since I have a co-pay with my insurance and don't pay the full price. Sorry, not much help there. I think it was fairly expensive, but if it works and nothing else does might be worth it. A person might ask their doctor if there is a generic or something else comparable (that is a liquid filled capsule). After not even 2 weeks of taking the Chromagen Forte my iron was perfect. in OK In a message dated 02/25/2002 5:53:03 AM Pacific Standard Time, jkrieg@... writes: << I have had my yearly blood work done and I am anemic everything else is fine. My doctor started me on a tablet form of iron and will recheck it again in 6-8 weeks. Iwas wondering is this capsule you are taking a prescription or over the counter and what does it cost? Guest guest
, I don't know what my hemoglobin level was when it was low. I didn't ask, cause it wouldn't have meant anything to me. The nurse called and said, " You're anemic, start taking your iron again. " Last Friday when I had it check it was 12.9, which again - - - Means nothing to me. I don't know what normal. Never asked - - - Silly me. And yes, I had been tired. I'd been going to bed when my 6 year old did at 8:30 and couldn't wait to get to bed then. And was still tired the entire next day. However, this didn't go on long before they found out I was anemic - - -Thank goodness. A while back I would've swore that I was anemic because I was so tired all the time and freezing cold constantly. I'm talking miserably cold. However, that's when my hemoglobin was high and they told me to stop taking the iron. Go figure. However, my protein was low then and my aunt, who's worked in the health food field for years maintained that's why I was so cold because my protein was low. Don't know if that makes a person tired though. Could have just been the pregnancy. I blame any ailment I have on the pregnancy :-) Sorry I'm not more help. If you want, I'd be happy to ask my nurse what my level was when I was anemic when I go to the doctor on Friday. I'll just try and remember to do that, cause now I'm curious. in OK MGB 3/29/2001 -123 to -126 (depending on the day) 29 week pregnant In a message dated 02/25/2002 5:52:39 PM Pacific Standard Time, jkrieg@... writes: << Thanks for the info. Guest guest
I'm sitting here with a copy of my bloodwork. It says that your hemoglobin is supposed to be between 12 and 16 (I assume this is for women). Iron is supposed to be between 50 and 150.
