Guest guest
Where do you live? After care hours would be???? Until when???? Is this to be at your house or are you willing to drop off and pick up your children? Is your child high functioning autism or severe autistic. What a gift these children are to us...they allow us to learn so much about are own selves...most of it is GRATITUDE! <egerpatt@...> wrote: Hi, I have been contacting people through this website even though the people who post here are probably not the cheapest as they provide specialized therapy. But you never know, you may find someone who will be a good match for your family's needs. The site is http://autismtutors.com/ and you would need to register through the site before you can post an ad or browse among those looking for a position. Good luck! Guest guest
Although very expensive (around $17,000 per year), an elite au pair could be hired for child care. Elite au pairs generally have more training and are willing to work in a home with special needs children. I am aware of a few families that have hired au pairs for their home programs because it is sometimes cheaper than hiring tutors (some families have hired two regular au pairs instead of an elite au pair). Anyway, I'm just putting it out there as an option. There are several agencies who assist families in hiring au pairs. An au pair would live with the family and can stay with a family for up to two years. Au pairs are allowed to work up to 45 hours per week and must have one day off per week (e.g., Sunday). They also must be given one full weekend off per month. There are also short- term programs as well (although I'm not familiar with the requirements on those). Thanks.
