Laurie,

Sounds terrific. Have you taken it yourself? How do you feel if you have

taken it? I worry about digestive problems ---don't have any, don't want any

:))

Lemme know if you have used this yourself yet if you have a chance!

Hi Flo,

Chitosan products are pretty common now. I have gotten them at GNC

and at Walmart. I think even a Rite Aid. Lots of sites on the

internet. I can't really tell you how to know which brands are the

best quailty for the money, though. Alot of them have a few other

things added like Vit. C and chromium piccolinate (sp?) or the herb

which helps stop absorption of carbohydrates( can't think of the name

- has garcin.... something in it). I have seen it as cheap as $12.00

and on up. It also goes by different names - Chitosan, Chitosol, etc.

I have started back on it. I am taking one in the evening with my

evening supplements, but I do not currently have any reflux symptoms.

I just think it makes good sense from what I have read. Another good

fiber source for us that happens to trap bile and sweep it in the

right direction. For weight loss, they say take one or two about 15

minutes before each meal. I also have read not to take it with your

vitamins because it can interfere the absorption of fat soluable

vitamins or meds.

Just do a web search on it. You will find a lot.

I also wanted to say to the newbies that a year ago through the end of

the summer, it was written and we were told that bile reflux would not

be a problem in 's defense. I wish her the best. I was one

who found out it was what worried a few other doctors and boy did I

get blasted for saying so, especially by the infamous one who was then

the #1 fan. It was reading this stuff about Chitosan that eleviated

" some " of my anxiety back then. I have written to Dr. R. about it

last summer when he was super swamped and never heard back about it.

I always heard back about my personal health concerns, though. I

interviewed the WLS surgeon from Ohio State University last July and

after his infomercial, I told him about Chitosan (he had never heard

of it, even though 75% of his work is with obese patients). His of

the cuff response was that if there was such a product that all

gastric bypass patients should be taking it. He does the open RNY.

Interesting...
